Tonight I send my deepest sympathies to Californians
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 11:36 PM by Cascadian
Dear neighbors to the South.

I am deeply sorry that California has to contend with the humiliation of having a man who has no real clue about politics. A man who said he admired Hitler, and has little respect for women. Schwartzeneggar's election does not mean California's problems will be solved. In fact, they may have just gotten worse. You think Governor Schwartzeneggar is going to make everything better? He is going to be California's worst nightmare.

But no fear. You can turn the tables on the Republicans. Vote for a recall next year. Do not back off! The time has come to get down and dirty. What California is going to need is a fiery, no-holds barred, kind of Democrat al a Howard Dean.

The defeat and recall of Gray Davis belies the biggest problem with the Democratic leadership. He played too timid. Too middle of the road and should have taken action on Pete Wilson's energy deregulation from day one. He should have gotten on people like David Issa and Ken Lay from the get-go. This proves to all of you "play it safe" centrist Democrats that this no longer works as a tactic. It is time to up the anti.

I also think that as a result of this joke election, there are going to be another 1 million Californians relocating to Oregon and Washington. Do not go away! Fight back. Fight for your state!

John

1. Don't worry they'll rebound
I was in California recently and they're tough smart people that we'll conquer all obsticles in front of them. Arnold doesn't know what he['s in store for.

3. Hell yeah!
Tell a Californian that something is impossible and we're going to start thinking of ways to do it! It's the way this state has always been, and always will be. Arnie is going to be in for a rough ride. Remember, this is the state with San Francisco and UC Berkeley! He's going to be having fun for the amount of time he's in office, and I intend to be coming up with as many nasty little surprises I can for Arnie to spice up his stay in Sacremento (nothing that will kill him, of course. Honestly people, this isn't TEXAS!), and I bet I won't be the ONLY one!!!

2. Schwarzenegger won't be able to do Sh*t
Dem's have working majorities in California Assembly and Senate. Cruz Bustamante is still Lt. Gov. and can reverse any noxious executive orders the minute Arnold physically leaves the state.

But this SUCKS.
