You beat me to the post! I wonder if the justices were entering or exiting the building at the time?

SC building before facade breaking. Hee hee, I get such a kick out of the use of the word "facade," it's sooo appropriate.

5. If you look at all the disasters hitting red states and now the
facade of the Supreme Court building falling off, I think someone should write to Pat Robertson, Falwell, Dobson and O'Reilly and let them know that God seems to be pissed at someone, but it doesn't look like it's Democrats/liberals.

I wonder what is on the facade? If it is a frieze with a carving of the 10 Commandments that would be so very ironic. I can't remember where the frieze or bas relief carving of the lawgivers of the world is in the court building.

26. IIRC, the 'lawgivers' are depicted in a mrual above and behind the ...
... seated justices. They include Hammurabai, King John, Moses, Napoleon, and other historical(?) notables.

No Injuries Reported

POSTED: 10:10 am EST November 28, 2005
UPDATED: 10:31 am EST November 28, 2005

http://www.nbc4.com/news/5417258/detail.html

WASHINGTON -- A basketball-sized piece of marble moulding fell from the facade over the entrance to the Supreme Court, landing on the steps near visitors waiting to enter the building.

No one was injured when the stone fell. The marble was part of the dentil moulding that serves as a frame for the frieze of statues atop the court's main entrance.

The large piece of marble fell from the building's facade above the words "Equal Justice Under Law" just before 10 a.m.

The justices are meeting Monday to issue orders and hear arguments.

the attic windows flung open

the basement doors unlocked and opened

and a new broom used to sweep out the unjust Justices

after all the 2000 coup d'etat came from there

Supreme Court Denies FBI Translator's Case

By TONI LOCY
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A former FBI translator failed Monday to
persuade the Supreme Court to revive her lawsuit alleging she was
fired for reporting possible wrongdoing by other linguists involved in
counterterrorism investigations.

The high court also rebuffed a request by Sibel Edmonds and media
groups to rule on whether an appellate court improperly held
arguments in the case in secret without being asked to do so by
either side.

"When courts are sealed, the public may suspect the worst and lose
faith in their government simply because they are prohibited access,"
wrote lawyers for media groups, including The Associated Press.

Edmonds, 32, who was hired after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist
attacks and fired in March 2002, argued that a trial court judge was
wrong to accept the Justice Department's claim that allowing her
lawsuit to go forward would threaten "state secrets," or national
security.
