Hackett: President’s Public Relations Stunt
Leaves Serious Questions Unanswered
Iraq Veteran/Democratic U.S. Senate Renews Call for Military Redeployment

Paul Hackett, veteran of the Iraq war and candidate for U.S. Senate, today responded to President Bush's remarks on the situation in Iraq and the White House release of their, "National Strategy for Victory in Iraq." "Once again the President has left the American people with unanswered questions. We deserve more than yet another glossy public relations stunt," said Hackett. "The President has failed to answer the number one question. I call on him tell the American people what the mission in Iraq is and describe the strategy for achieving that mission... ‘staying the course’ is neither a mission nor a strategy."

Responding to the "National Strategy for Victory in Iraq" Hackett called the 35 page document, nothing more than, "a smoke screen from a White House completely divorced from the reality of our situation in Iraq." He continued, "Iraq is less secure today than it was two and half years ago. The American military has accomplished all that can be militarily accomplished in Iraq. American tax dollars and lives should not be spent painting Iraqi schools or building Iraqi highways. It’s time for the people of Iraq to rebuild their nation and it’s time to plan for a redeployment of our troops serving in Iraq."

1. Couldn't have said it better--this administration has been on big
public relations stunt....but they can't get away with it anymore. People are starting to realize that the President has no clothes.

6. HACKETT FOR PRESIDENT
Hackett is the Man!!!

He is a straight shooter, especially when it comes to calling out the Village Idiot Occupying the White House.

Hackett was the first congressional candidate to call Bush a "CHICKEN HAWK" on National TV during an interview when he appeared on Hardball with Criss "Tweety Bird" Matthew.

Last week on Hard Ball, Hackett made mention of the fact of Bush's abuse of drug and alcohol. The man is fearless and truely believes he can make a difference. I will send what money I can afford to get him into the Senate.

'American tax dollars and lives should not be spent painting Iraqi schools or building Iraqi highways.'

This is a good line.

12. No wonder the DSCC doesn't want him...
He'd have much better credentials on this matter than any senate dem currently serving. Kerry and Reid would be relegated to the back on this issue.

14. Unfortunately, speaking TRUTH is often not enough with ideologues...
facts and truth and honesty mean NOTHING to these neo-con-men...if it doesn't fit their skewed and immoral worldview, it's wrong, no matter how factual or incontrovertible it may be.
These asshats see nothing that they don't want to see.

And our country is suffering greatly all the while.
