Iraq/9-11 connection e-mail being sent around by the fundies-
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 11:15 AM by Al-CIAda
Received this mail from a relative-
If you have seen this before, and have at the ready any biting/witty retorts, pithy commentary, etc.. please post. It will be composed and incorporated into my 'reply all' message.

> Read down to the very bottom, you don't want to miss this!
VERY INTERESTING -

1. The garden of Eden was in Iraq.
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!
6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq!
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
10. Amos cried out in Iraq!
11. Babylon , which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq!
13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!)
14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in Iraq.
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq.
17. The wise men were from Iraq.
18. Peter preached in Iraq.
19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called
Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!

And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq! However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar! , and Mesopotamia. The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots. Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible. No other nation, except Israel, has more history prophecy associated it than Iraq.

And also... This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages... The following verse! is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?! God Bless you all Amen!

----------

The Romans and Nazis used the Eagle too...and went into Iraq to 'clense the lands'...these people are borderline RETARDED.

What's with all the biblical references
of events in Iraq? I could think of a zillion (;-) ) in Egypt and quite a few in Iran and Syria - does that mean we invade them too? What junk, they will use anything to justify an end...

7. I didn't even have to read the Koran to know that was bullshit.
But, for the record (just in case Freeps are lurking....)

9.11: But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.

No eagles, no sons of Arabia. Not even a single mention of Allah. So it wasn't even a mistranslation. More like a complete fabrication. Kinda like everything that comes out of the Chimpy Zoo.

8. Iraq was a nation formulated by the British during their
occupation in the early part of the 20th centry. Did not exist as a single entity prior to that time. That list is a buncha mumbo jumbo.

9. That ancient city of Babylon...
was being excavated and studied when we invaded, I remember reading a clip from an article, probably here. The article said we flattened it, made it a helopad.

10. holy shit, do these people still read entrails too?
Don't you think that in 2000 years or more, maybe this bible that was written for goatherders to sort out their complicated lives, and mostly because they didn't have public education or satellite tv for entertainment, might have updated with something a little more specific? Like, didn't we do all this shit with Japan when we dropped nukes on them? That was a pretty big deal. Killing millions of jews and gays and gypsies and political dissidents in Europe 50 years ago was a pretty big deal. Enslaving millions of african americans, in SOUTH AMERICA, not just here, was a pretty big deal, not to mention the popes, anti popes, false popes, holy roman emperors and not so holy emperors, plus all the whack job priests, high priests, inquisitors, and other pontiffs who did more evil to humans and humanity than any demon could ever imagine doing.

Why did all the action happen 2000 years ago? If this was all that important are WE going to write a New Improved Testament to incorporate all this "proof"?

Maybe we can get Pat Robertson to write one for us, as soon as he's done blaming jews and single moms and gays and liberals for hurricanes, terrorists and the downfall of western civilization.

11. Of all the damage done to the Iraq
infrastructure, the damage done at historical sites in Babylon and to the mosques and cultural icons of Iraq is going to be the American historical legacy. Add to that the up to 200,000 civilians, most women and children, and the 60,000 plus in US custody.....

History is not going to be kind.

12. Thanks for the link...excellent...so its just a bald(eagle) faced lie...
I am composing my reply...it is difficult to restrain myself when I get these things. I haven't received one in some time. My relative is uneducated and given to make believe. These people need these lies to bolster their fragile and wrong headed worldview. I am attempting to address/ask why it is our 'christian' duty to kill, torture, and steal in 'His' name using a war based on lies...and of course, questioning where the fuck they get that Iraq or SH had ANYTHING to do with the events of 9/11.

...very difficult to contain my anger at such willfull ignorance and stupidity.

13. It's easy to lie about what's in the Koran because few americans have
ever read one, much less owned one.

Think about this point too, though. If the Koran is so accurate and correct does that authenticate it as the holy book for mankind?

You can't jave it both ways. You can't tell people the Koran is bullshit but then point to a verse and confirming prophecies.

14. This is still going around? Not only is that verse fake
but apparently this whole email is meant to do what, exactly? Tell us that Iraq is a holy land and therefore it is our right, as a Christian nation, to take it?
