Reid Seeks to Keep Caucus on Same Page/ Dean's comments called a miscue

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is urging Democrats to limit their comments on the future of the Iraq war to areas where there is broad agreement within the party in an effort to quell increasing concerns both within the Democratic Caucus and the minds of the public that the ongoing conflict has caused deep intra-party divisions. The Nevada Democrat’s move came in the wake of recent message miscues by Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean and Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.).

Unlike the poster from DailyKos, where I got this snippet from RollCall, I don't think this call for Dean and Lieberman to "STFU" from Reid (DKos poster phrasology)is necessarily either a smart move, nor a painfully obvious one.

And I CERTAINLY don't see how Dean's telling the truth about Iraq qualifies as a "miscue."

I agree, instead, with Sen. Reed, who when asked if it were a problem that the Dems don't speak with one voice on Iraq, commented that the Republican weren't all on the same page either.

I think coming up with various plans and hashing them out is healthy. How else will we get to that "same page."

I love ya, Harry, but I'll have to respectfully disagree with you here.

1. I disagree! Dems are not the ruling party. They don't have to be
unified. They are not leading and managing a war. Dems are NOT in charge. They can and should have all kinds of opinions and until they have the power to actually make something happen they should say what they believe.
