Trouble in Europe


Our nation’s top diplomat sounds increasingly undiplomatic, haranguing her European hosts and ducking questions about American abduction and abuse of foreign nationals.

Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. secretary of state, advised Europeans to get over their anger. In fact, Rice provocatively insisted this week, the Europeans should actually be grateful for the disturbing practices.

The idea of sending Rice to Europe at this time was ill-advised.

1. Rice is one of the most overhyped/limited ability people around

She has never been right about anything except to hook her career to the right wing. That was a good career choice for her. Even a dolt looks sharp in that crowd.

The Bush Administration to a man (and woman) is completely lacking
when it comes to basic skills in diplomacy. Of course, the fact
that they don't BELIEVE in diplomacy doesn't help! They all seem
