We are not going to leave Iraq.
I firmly believe this. I believe that is why the Democrats are going after Howard Dean on this so much, because he might get people talking about it.

That is why they are misquoting him, misquoting Murtha, saying they said to "cut and run".

I have talked to the offices of all the congress folks who came out against Howard Dean's statements. I just got off the phone with Pomeroy's office. Yesterday I talked to others. I talked to the campaign office of Patrick Murphy, a Fighting Democrat candidate, who said he did not agree with Dean on Iraq. Sad conversation it was. He is so young to be so tied up with words that are meaningless. His aide was nice, I found out he gave a long interview of which one sentence was used....but they did quote him correctly. He wants to win the war.

Pomeroy wants to stay in Iraq according to his site. I could not get an answer from Tauscher's office or the others I called. I did not expect one.

They do not want dialogue on this issue. Howard Dean opened up the can of worms, and it is going to be very hard to put them back into the can again. There is so much evil that went into planning this invasion, that Lieberman doesn't even want us "digging" into it. I have a thread on that.

Iraq was meant as neocon experiment with nation building. They are not going to give up that dream. And it is not just Republicans.

Talking to these offices is like talking to a brick wall. If I had them face to face it would be just the same. The saddest was the young Fighting Democrat who thinks we can win.

We have lost, we can't win because we have lost, but they don't want us talking about it.

The difference between Us and Them is that they WANT at least a token American Presence in the Region, and we don't, because our Presence is the SOURCE of our Problems with Them. If we stay, We need a line of Cannon Fodder at least 3 Xs as long as the 2,000+ already Dead, not to mention all of the WOUNDED . . . .

Some Democrats want a minimal American token Presence on however many Permanent Bases, ergo 10+ years of Development time for those permanent bases, and Many MORE Dead and Wounded to establish an Islamist State that won't actually solve anything because no one is re-drawing the borders of the countries along Tribal lines, because the Invasion has never been about Solutions. It has always been about the Oil. Permanent Bases on the Pipelines = the Oil and "we" are sitting on the on-off spigotts, as China rises to economic , and possible military, dominance of the world. Some Democrats want this Oil Choke Chain around China's Neck. The People are just supposed to step up and Volunteer to back it up, by dying Where-ever, no questions asked about the Outcomes at Home. Wow.

2. It is sooooo Vietnam...
but with oil. It would be one thing, if the dems could articulate their reasoning...without using the words freedom or democracy, or any other bullshit bytes. I applaud you for initiating the dialogue, and while it may seem fruitless you never know where your seeds will take root. Sooner or later the glaring truth will blind those unfamiliar with it.

3. I think it is easier to think we are leaving soon.
And I don't think so.

4. You have no plans to voluntarily do so
but you WILL leave Iraq. The ONLY question is how many dead bodies will be left in your wake.

6. The Democrats against Dean's remarks are compromised
by war profiteering or the neocon ideology. That can be the only explanation.
