Congressman DeLay's staff avoids the draft

Members of Move On met with Congressman DeLay's staff with petitions from over 400 of his constituents asking for his immediate attention to bringing our troops home from Iraq by Dec of 2006.

Since Saddam is now out of power, his regime was disarmed from WMDs that he didn't have, and now that new leadership has been voted upon, it is time to call victory and get our men and women, and the United States, out of Iraq.

On a side note, noting that DeLay's staff, "Mark", was of fighting age, we asked if he was going to sign up to defend our country and relieve the men and women who are searving their 2nd and 3rd tours of duty in Iraq. He claimed he was going to "consider" it after going to grad school. We reminded him that our soldiers could not wait for his support and suggested that he defer his education until after he returned from Iraq and to take advantage of the opportunities the service could provide.

He was not very enthusiastic about that idea and terminated the discussion.

Imagine that.

1. Great job!! Love the photo but love the fact you told Mark the truth
about him being able to make a decision about his future and our troops have their own lives on hold.

2. Dude! I have a story!
I was riding the train home a couple weeks ago (the metro in DC) and there was this guy, probably in his late 20s, and he was talking to this other woman, and he asked what she did, and she told him. Then he said "I work for Mr DeLay" and saying all about what he did on the staff, and I almost died. Like seriously, I almost fell over. Maybe that was "Mark". He'd be the right age. Weird!
