This is how Republicans thank "conservative" Democrats
Guess which Texas Democrats are being targeted by "Hot Tub" Tom DeLay? Not Sheila Jackson Lee, not Eddie Bernice Johnson, not Charles Gonzalez. Even Lloyd Doggett and Martin Frost are spared by this map (for now, anyway). No, the Democrats being targeted for unemployment by the Texas legislature and "Hot Tub" Tom DeLay are "conservative" Democrats. People like Ralph Hall, Charles ("Chuckie") Stenholm, Max Sandlin, Jim Turner and Chet Edwards. All a bunch of lemmings who bent over backwards over and over again for the White House, in the mistaken belief that doing so would appease Karl Rove, Tom DeLay and *, as if to say, "Oh, please, please stop being mean to me!!!! I'll do it, I'll do it!!" Snotty political analysts persistently told us that these representatives would have to support the Bush Administration to save their political careers. They did. This is the thanks they will get.

2. Maybe the state party will learn from this
And maybe the bluedogs will start remembering who brung them to the dance. This should be a lesson for the middle of the road Dems on the national scene who want to play nice with Shrub.

If all else fails, when Texas is back in the D column in the next decade, we can gerrymander our own districts. Paybacks are hell, and that's one of the problems with repubs only thinking about the short term. (kidding- sort of anyway)
