Mother of dead drug dealer seeks change in victims fund law
Tuesday October 21, 2003

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) The mother of a man shot to death during a drug deal is seeking legislation that would require the state to help pay funeral expenses of people killed while committing crimes.

The state Judicial Department's Office of Victim Services recently denied Diane White's reimbursement request for the $5,095 she spent on her son William ``Billy'' White's funeral this year.

I find this interesting, I was unaware that the State of Connecticut paid the funeral expenses of people killed due to violent crimes.

1. Oh that will be popular
That's the kind of issue that turns promising politicians into Michael Dukakises.
