Bush spied only BAD Guys? - NSA Spied U.N. Diplomats in Push for Invasion
Despite all the news accounts and punditry since the New York Times published its Dec. 16 bombshell about the National Security Agency’s domestic spying, the media coverage has made virtually no mention of the fact that the Bush administration used the NSA to spy on U.N. diplomats in New York before the invasion of Iraq.

That spying had nothing to do with protecting the United States from a terrorist attack. The entire purpose of the NSA surveillance was to help the White House gain leverage, by whatever means possible, for a resolution in the U.N. Security Council to green light an invasion. When that surveillance was exposed nearly three years ago, the mainstream U.S. media winked at Bush’s illegal use of the NSA for his Iraq invasion agenda.

However I feel confident we may be revistiting familiar roads shortly after the holiday vacation ends and Bush returns to Washington and The Libby, Abramoffs,Delay, Scanlon and perhaps, just maybe Mr. Rove will be joining his commrades also.

1. spying on UN Officials is old news...
Paul Thompson documents this in his Timeline to invading Iraq. The bush crime family
prior to UN Resolution 1442 hoped to get the dirt on UN Officials and therefore be
able to bribe/coerce some to vote for war..

3. That's precisely the point -- Bush said he only spied on the bad guys
example: How many man-hours did the FBI spend on wiretaps on antiwar movement groups without a warrant.

2. The bad guy statement was limited to the domestic spying...
NSA snoops on the entire electromagnetic spectrum and every communications cable they can tap. Virtually all nations spy or at least try to, knowing what the other side is talking about is a huge advantage for more than just war.
