This Blair speech to Congress must've been a last-minute idea
Usually, speeches to Congress by foreign leaders are momentous. In this case, it sounds like Rove decided to do this to take the news focus away from the emboldened Dems.
--think that a British accent automatically endows the speaker with sophistication, intelligence, and therefore, credibility. I've seen it many times over my career.
And since Blair can actually give a speech without spitting sentence fragments and urging our enemies to "Bring 'em on", it's a lot safer than having the monkey-in-chief speak.
Blair is giving us all the Bush rhetoric (and lies) that we're tired of hearing. Will it give it more validity to come from Blair? It's the same old bullshit and they're all giving him standing ovations every four minutes. This is another insult to American intelligence. Shame on them!
