2. Too bad 60 Minutes II will be competing with
baseball tonight and no one will be watching. CBS seems to save it's juiciest topics for 60 II, as they did last week.

11. perhaps it's got something to do with the fact that he's the frontrunner…
and has the largest base of (tangible) supporters.

14. Clark and Dean have both been the frontrunners - why does Clark
not get half the attention that Dean does? You never hear his name mentioned at all (or anyone else's name for that matter at all).

20. Where are you?
Clark is getting plenty of attention, especially considering he has been in the race all of two weeks. As much as Dean? well maybe not, but Dean has set fundraising records, has the internet wired, and responds to EVERYTHING that happens with press releases, thereby putting himself at risk, but also gaining attention.

Let us know when you are back from Mars.

24. How has Clark been getting any attention - I've barely heard his name
in the last few weeks. I listen to CNN and MSNBC almost all day - always hear "Dean Dean Dean" not one word about any of the other candidates.

They are really trying to sell Dean.

Please name a program where you've seen Clark in. I saw him ONCE for about 2 minutes on Inside Politics.

Clark has been in the race for more than a month.

Having a spot on 60 Minutes - one of the top rated shows on a major network during prime times is a big deal. You can't pay enough money to get that kind of exposure.

28. 60 Minutes is different than 60 Minutes II
60 Minutes (the Sunday night edition) is the top rated news program on all TV.

60 Minutes II is not so highly-rated.

21. I disagree
Clark was ubiquitous for the first couple of weeks but now that everything is settling down i think his air time has as well (although i think he gets about the same television time as Dean)

12. Simple
Because more ratings/money is to be made from Dean stories than broadcasting Kucinich stories.

Are you implying something more tinfoily?

39. Let them build a record breaking grass roots network...

raise record amounts of money, and go from 2% in the polls to being the frontrunner.... and maybe he'll get the same amount of press.

Let Clark get 130,000 people meeting up to support him across the country... and maybe we'll see him get some more press.

41. Can you say sour grapes?

Dean and his campaign and his supprters have all worked very hard to get this media coverage going. We've written letters and sent e-mails and faxes... we've gone to meetups and send in donations.

We busted our ass and now that it is paying off and we have a candidate who can work the media effectivly... there are some who would attack this sucess.

Desperate and sad... when you have let them head fuck you so hard that you see such a victory as proof of failure.

25. Because Karl told them too, of course.
He's afraid of Clark because of all those medals, and polls show that Gephardt would be the hardest for Bush to beat, so of course he wants to run against Dean, the Berkenstock Governor from that liberal hellhole, Vermont.

33. Dean volunteers himself to a critical media, and he's earning my vote
and respect.

So far.

Open mind here, but Dean scores points with me because he walks right into the fire. Not the first time I have arrived at Dean as the best Dem to lead the party in 04. I hope not the last.

30. MAN...
That piece on dyslexia was such a piece of crap... It was obvious that business man was selling snake oil (3K per person for what ?)...
I would not be surprised if that patient had memorized the paragraph at that point... We'll see after a few properly controlled studies with large Ns...

Dean did well though! -C

46 M quicktime

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/60II/main3475.shtml
For the RealPlayer streaming version

on edit: The CBS online version is much shorter than what was aired earlier tonight. Maybe they're working on getting the whole thing online? It didn't play at all for me the first few tries.

If you like downloading vids or mp3s that I crunch like this and bpilgrim hosts on his webserver (I don't get paid dime one for it, btw), or any of the other many services that globalfreepress provides, please click here too, because bpilgrim is currently doing a fundraising drive to help cover expenses :-)

He did sound a little naive on things he had been told about other candidates, and Rather called him on it.

31. TV Time?
Dean is on more then the rest, because he is saying something. He is exciting and that makes a story. When the a horse is favored to win the race, which horse do the people talk about, and want to see run?

35. That is true.
I just noticed that from just before 8 o'clock until now, 15 new people have signed up for our local meet-up. That is a lot at once.
He was interesting, and he always has a lot to say. I just want him to keep on with the speaking out on what he thinks.

32. are you referring to his comments about the Clintons?
if so, I don't think he sounded naive at all. in fact, I think he answered perfectly.

if he indicated he believed that the Clintons were pushing Clark, or that Clark was a stalking horse, he'd have sounded like he was wearing a :tinfoilhat:
