Even PBS is full of S***. I watched Washington Week and
Inside Washington (or two stupid damn shows with names like that) anyway both mentioned the released CIA documents and neither one made a big to-do about the WMD discrepancies. In fact one joker, I forget his name is, just kept saying that "This isn't on the same level as Travelgate or Watergate. It's not the same thing." Basically saying Wow!! those two items were BAD JUJU, this is just democrats making a big deal over something that doesn't really amount to anything.

The Gwen Ifels show did say that if we keep losing American soldiers and it doesn't look like we are making progress in Iraq, then Bush may have a problem there.

But I did learn one interesting thing. The deficit is actually around $600 million dollars, but because they are SPENDING THE SOCIAL SECURITY SURPLUS, they are able to keep the deficit figures DOWN!!!! The remark "it will be interesting to see what happens when the aging baby boomers try to claim their social security" made me sick. Because these journalistic jackoffs have money, they do not have to rely on Social Security. So hell, no skin off their noses. But for the great unwashed masses, there may be a problem looming in their future.

Both news (?) programs said point blank, the economy will be the biggest problem for Asswipe & Co. Especially since housing mortgage interest rates are starting to rise. Housing has been one of the only bright spots in the economy, and if that's hurt because of higher mortgage interest rates, Bush could find himself in deep doo-doo.The economist on the Gwen Ifels program even used the word "credibility" concerning the numbers released by the White House on the deficit.

OH WELL, can't tell too much truth, they get public funding.

2. Gwen Ifel makes me ill. I can't f**king stand her.

She's got this smarmy smirk that she does when
she's talking bad about the Democrats. I guess
her and Bush are members of the His and Hers
Smirking Club.

Thanks for the heads up. Usually I record and watch,
but tonite I'll watch the tape instead. Save up
my fury for the Sunday shows.

4. They made FUN of the Democrats leaving the House Ways and Means committee
Let me tell you... it was not funny. It was a total act of arrogance, disrespect, and stupidity on the part of the Republicans. They always talk with a smirk on their faces, so self-satisfied. THIS IS A ONE PARTY CONGRESS. Do people need to march on Washington?

5. Gee, I knew NPR was over....
.... but I still held out hope for PBS.

Oh well, I never gave them much money so I can't withhold it like I did with NPR. :)

7. I knew PBS was bought & paid for years ago
when they refused to show the Academy Award winning documentary, "The Panama Deception".

6. I stopped watching Washington Week years ago.
It was the day Dan Quayle(sp?) was doing his Murphy Brown schtick and they were actually discussing for it's "cleverness" and not as the moronic statement it actually was. Prior to that I was a avid but increasingly disenchanted viewer.

8. Here's a suggestion

First of all, it never was news that right-wingers are on PBS. Mark Russell joked years ago that it was completely ridiculous to whine that PBS had a liberal bias, as it gave a prominent place to Louis Rukeyser and his ilk. "The NewsHour" also generally features guests who are white, male, and frequently conservative.

Secondly, a lot of these discussion programs (such as Bonnie Erbe's "To the Contrary" and Frank Sesno's program, the name of which I forget) feature a mixture of guests. Sesno also features international journalists, as does Llwellyn King's program, so you at least get the additional perspective.

Thirdly, put your e-mail to use. Write to ask for a more balanced approach.

Finally, explore a variety of programs and be certain to support the ones that show balance. I made a point of e-mailing my local PBS station (of which I am a member) to thank them for airing "Now" with Bill Moyers. I got a very prompt reply. We need to support the programs that have balance and register specific complaints about the biased ones.
