Lieberman on Tweety
Edited on Mon Dec-15-03 07:22 PM by TexasPatriot
he just extended his comments from the other day

"If Howard Dean or Wes Clark were in power, Saddam Hussein would still be there"

What about DK or CMB Joe? Let's get em all in there ;)

1. And if Gore had picked Kerry as his running mate in 2000
President Gore would be running for his second term.

2. did you hear what he said before the break?
By taking out Saddam, we've saved the lives of 1000's if not 100,000s of AMERICANS! WTF?

3. Tweety asked him about the 500 soldiers and lieberman said
that they'd still be alive if they were under a Dean administration. So, wtf is up with Lieberman?

When others have been there, I've seen people hanging from the rafters. Not for Joe.

22. nope
he's totally out of touch

Who the hell is he looking to get to vote for him? It's like watching George I marvel at the UPC scanner at Safeway.

What's screwed up about this, is that there's EVEN A QUESTION as to whether one of our 9 candidates would support another of the candidates when it came to their vote. What does THAT say about this guy.

24. Question for the posters in this thread
I went and signed DK's petition regarding the pulling of his ABC embed. If they pulled Lieberman's embed, would you be as upset?

I'm not sure I would (and considering my arguments on the subject, i'm feeling a little hypocritical for feeling that way)

25. Joe is the Doctor's Best Friend Tonight
And I'm not a Deanie.

But Joe sounds like a real jerk tonight.

The more I hear him bash Dean, the more I am against Joe.

Why doesn't he just join the republican party?

I am still voting for Kerry...And I'm voting against Bush.

Later Nader!

27. In defense of Joe Lieberman
Edited on Mon Dec-15-03 07:56 PM by LittleDannySlowhorse
OK. As a Deanie, I would be completely within my rights to take this guy to task for his stupid comments about him. However, I'm sitting here watching him on Tweety, and I have come to some conclusions:

1. While I wish he would pit a lid on his moralizing, I have come to the conclusion that his moral outlook is genuine, and is the result of legitimate belief, as opposed to political expediency

2. He's obviously a very intelligent man

3. He is not just giving Bush a pass on the war, and never intended to

4. Most importantly, he would make a better president than Bush, lest I forget

5. He is more forward-thinking on traditional, core Democratic social issues than he gets credit for

I'm done!

EDIT: I still think he needs to give it up and drop out though.

29. well
taking only the last thing he said before break:

as he just said he'd support the no child left behind act by better funding it...

and as I'm living in Texas and know how much damage the Texas version of this crap has done to our own schools...

i'd say his 'forward-thinking on traditional, core Democratic social issues' may be suspect

31. I was busy typing while he said that
and didn't catch the thrust of what he said about that specifically. He's said a ton of unacceptable shit in this interview too, believe me, and it puts me no closer to voting for him (unless of course he's the nominee, but we can all file that under "never going to happen").

Maybe it's just that over the last few days, as he's become more obviously desperate, I am developing some sympathetic feelings towards him on a personal level. But don't worry, I'm sure he'll say something in the next couple of days that will make me hate him all over again.

30. You are so right - Liberman is fine
He's called "Bush-lite" by the far left here at DU. However, Lieberman is closer to JFK than GWB. Almost down the line Lieberman aligns himself with the positions of John Kennedy. Nobody should forget that. OF COURSE he would be better than Bush! Many of us are out here reading this thread shaking our heads. I just decided to post.
