Re the Capitol Hill Blue "smoking gun" story: IS THIS THE GUY?
I posted this in another thread about the the Capitol Hill Blue story (http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_2518.shtml) brought up here today which seems to put the nail in Bush's coffin re lying about the Niger deal.

I have major doubts about the story, but I think I may have found the guy it refers to as its source. Could THIS be the "CIA advisor" who's allegedly nailing Bush?

From a June 20th New York Times story on searching for Saddam Hussein(via the Oakland Tribune reprint of the story: http://www.oaklandtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,82~1865~1467084,00.html):

"It has been known that Task Force 20 has led the hunt for chemical and biological weapons. But the unit's role in trying to determine the fate of Saddam has not been previously disclosed. Some officials have suggested that the efforts are linked and that he or his sons left power with a precise knowledge of Iraq's weapons program."

"Task Force 20, the military organization that defense officials said had been charged with conducting the search, reports to the Central Command and its leader, Gen. Tommy R. Franks. The Central Command has only recently acknowledged the existence of Task Force 20, and and a spokesman for the U.S. Central Command, James Wilkinson, said he would not comment on the special military team or its mission. But other United States officials said the team was being supported by several intelligence agencies, including the CIA, and was organized to allow it to act quickly on intelligence gathered by satellites and electronic eavesdropping."

"J. (James) Wilkinson", in Iraq, linked (by the story at least) to the CIA and the hunt for WMD. Could this be the same guy? Could a guy working with the military in this capacity, as a "spokesman" on sensitive issues in Iraq, also be a "CIA advisor present at two Oval office meetings"?

1. Wilkinson
Does Capitol Hill Blue have an agenda in this thing?

Would they plant a "straw man" to be easily shot down?

The fact that mainstream media isn't picking up on this at all is really troubling.

Also...thought it was "Terrence" Wilkerson....

Your quest for the truth is admirable. Keep going!!!!

3. Terrance J. Wilkinson
James Wilkinson may go by his middle name.

The guy IS involved in the WMD search, in a discreet, "no comment" way, in Iraq.

4. it's terrance J. wilkinson, according to article
I had the same problems, googled combinations of terrence/terrance and CIA, came up only with James Wilkinson.

didn't think about that, but maybe he is the guy.

straw man story, unfortunately, seems possible.

did you look at the site in any detail?

I skimmed it, and the posts I read (reader rant section) seemed rational, reasonable

If this story is true, it's a huge dagger pointed at the heart of this conspiracy to elect the slob at 1600.

that's all this war was ever for

2. could be...
i attended a national policy forum in DC last week, during which retired CIA analyst ray mcgovern stated that the CIA would refute the * admin accusatons against the agency in the next week or two. he also pointed to joseph wilson (across the conference table) and said that joe would be making a major statement in the next few days.
i was sittiing next to joe wilson (the way joseph wilson introduced himself) at that session.

5. Wilson & Wilkerson
I'm still uneasy about the story but feel a little better about it after your subsequent posts.

I'm not very good at google (or is it googleing?) but I couldn't come up with the same info you did....hats off!!!

I am adamant that this story be thoroughly "vetted" before we discredit ourselves with inaccurate info....think of it this way:

can you imagine that a-hole J.D. Heyworth laughing at you?

6. the article says he retired two months later
that would make it before his appearance in Iraq, right?

unless he took another job after that.

Just like E. Howard Hunt "retired" from the CIA, then went to work for CREEP........was there ever a better acronym?

8. the weird thing about the CapitalHillBlue story to me
is that it doesn't lead with the Wilkinson part of it, it leads with the Ari part.

The Wilkinson thing to me seems so incredibly damning, much moreso than Ari's unintelligible "admission," that I would expect it to be the headline rather than an afterthought.
