Would you drive an EV Hummer?
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 04:38 PM by Taverner
I wouldn't - think theyre too freakin big and I like small and stealth...

BUT...say you could drive a solar/EV hummer (the thing IS freakin big enough to host enough solar panels...) would you?

1. It's pointless and stupid to drive one of those behemoths in Chicago...
Or any other large city.

I wouldn't, solar panels or otherwise.

4. God no!
When i was going car shopping i looked at the a few Hummers that were being sold out of my local Subaru dealer. The funny/sad part is on the price sticker they won't even list the gas milage.

2. Fuck no
they are unsafe because other people can't see around them. And they skid or roll over easily.

3. I might
I confess, I think they are kind of cool. I go in for that industrial aesthetic.

However, even a mythical 100% solar conversion efficiency wouldn't be enough to power a hog like that.

6. Nope
Electricity isn't free, and solar isn't going to happen. Even if it were solar, it's still a danger to other cars on the road and I just don't like that.

Not to mention that Hummers are totally fugly. :puke:

7. Aside from it's poor gas mileage...
A Hummer is a social status symbol, I would never be caught driving a "look at me I have social status" type vehicle...

12. On back dirt roads?
Hell no, they are way too wide for most of the dirt roads I would be frequenting. Be afraid of scrapping off the paint on the sides.
