2. I used to work at Dell
Which I hear was the inspiration for this particularly brilliant film. And it was filmed in my home town of Austin.

I love it.

We were discussing it at work one day (at Dell), and one of my friends said, "Movie? I thought it was a documentary."

I almost wet myself.

However, I left the cold, clammy grip of The Man after I realized I was playing the part of Milton, just the female version, and someone stole my red stapler.

3. One of the best fucking movies EVER.
After that came out, Swingline started making red staplers because the movie drove a demand for them. (The one they used was made special for the film.)

That and plus, did not everyone in every office in the USA find it amazingly easy to get a laugh just by droning like Lumbergh? "Heeeeyyyyy, Peter, whaaaaaat's haaaappenin'? Yeeeaaahhh, we're gonna neeeeeeed you to stay laaaate... Greeeeaaaat."

I STILL use the word "assclown" in ordinary conversation. That one crept in pretty damn good, I'd say.

Lastly: "jalapeno poppers, pizza shooters, extreme fajitas." ROTFLMAO.

6. Where can I get a red Swing line? Where, where oh where?
Edited on Mon May-03-04 08:36 PM by put out
I want four or nine of them and I mean it.

Mother's Day is happening soon. If anyone who loves me wants to ever again be a mother****er, I had better get that stapler.

My edit: Swing Line? And if anyone who loves me, likes me, or regards me with some sort of affection wants to get next to this mother, I still demand the stapler. I have standards, after all.

My shipment should be in by Thursday. I am going to staple everything in sight. I am going to mount a stapler to my dashboard, put one on my desk at work and one on my desk at home. I may light one on fire just to see what it looks like singed. I'm going to mail one to my brother. I will be hoarding the remaining staplers.

I am a happy happy mother. Mo stinking roses for me, no sir.

Edit: "Mo stinking roses for me" a little Freud for ya?

4. At a retirement party for a longtime (dinosaur) coworker, I gave him
the VHS of "Office Space".

(BTW, I gave a DVD of it to my boss on Boss's day - warned him that it didn't have any implications - just a funny movie).

Anyway, I told the retiring office coworker that the sweaty, office-downsized worker reminded me so much of how his boss was treating him, trying to humiliate him to the point of quitting. I hope that he really enjoyed the movie.

This guy was the epitome of WASP. (I even joked with him about it, and he admitted it!). But, I tell you, he had one of the best senses of humor I had run across. (He also loved "The Simpsons" - go figure).

That was a few years ago. He is sorely missed.

9. CIGNA
I worked at CIGNA Healthcare locally as a manager of a digital and microfilm imaging department. I had to take a daily inventory of the claims on hand per region. If I made the slightest mistake or if the figures were off, I'd receive emails and personal visits to my cubicle, much like Peter and his TPS report cover sheets. I'm so damned glad I'm not there anymore.
