My Semester is done.
3 A's (Not totally sure, but nothing below an A going into my exams and they were easy as pie.)
Are all the other college folks done (students, teachers) or are you still working?

Darn those academic bureaucrats though. I was supposed to know 3 weeks ago whether I get to start my clinical work (nursing) in the Fall or I'm stuck on a waiting list until 2005 and they're being slow. It's not just me, it's everyone waiting who's going into the nursing program who is stuck on hold. :grr:

1. done here for the semester
I'm in graduate school for mathematics. I got a 3.5 for my first semsester, which means I get to keep my job.

You know what's weird about graduate school? All of the cheaters.

I'm so glad to be done now though, back to living my life! Cheers!

3. That's good
Cheaters suck. If you do what you have to do, it's not that hard (even when it is).
Someday I'll be in grad school I think, but I went the wrong route the first time and get to do additional undergrad all over again, but there's many others in my boat trying to career change themselves into a better something.

2. and
nice quote Sarah, I'm quite partial to the father of democracy myself. Thomas Jefferson kicks ass, he wrote Madison (after his own retirement) that the poor people in this country deserve to move onto government owned land, and build a home, and till the land for a reasonable taxation from the government. That to deny this action, a citizen claiming government land in order to survive, is to treat man and woman as inhuman, and that it is unconstitutional. Madison thought otherwise, naturally being an aristocrat.

Thomas Jefferson was a brilliant man, and absolutely right I think about ownership. He should have lived long enough to meet (or read) Marx.

4. I love that quote as well (obviously)
I think so often in life, fear is used for purposes of control or limitation when in reality, there may be little to fear. Both people (and nations) hold themselves back with simply fear as the basis.

While Jefferson had personal goings-on that now would most certainly not be acceptable, his thoughts and actions were of a man definitely ahead of his time. It's too bad some of his more socialist leanings didn't further materialize Constitutionally.

8. indeed
but note that, Jefferson tried vigorously to pass a law while president virtually ending slavery in one generation: that the children of slaves are American citizens, and hence not slaves. Couldn't pull it off, as you know.

Nevertheless, upon his death he freed all of his slaves. And I like to think that a person as profound as he was extremely humane and beneficient to his slaves, and only kept them because he would be politically chastised as pandering to extremists if he'd freed them any sooner. I don't know, nobody knows, but that's what I like to think.

13. thanks!
now I've just got to find a job and move out of Virginia (R- Bigots Paradise). I freaked out when they announced Stewart as the speaker. The past few years we'd had old, conservative white people.

17. i thought he lives in new york where he does his show.
b/c he definitely doesn't like the south. he's originally from up north, so the last time he was here, he was talking about what it was like being a canadian liberal jew coming here in the middle of the bible belt. he won't even admit on tv that he went here bc he hated it so much. it was funny, bc NOTHING has changed since he was here.

19. Wonder if it's the same place
I don't want to mention the place because, well, I'd rather it not be public knowledge of all my personal whereabouts :tinfoilhat: , but I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same place. I'd say I'm on the young side of many of the students. It's the one of few secure job markets and there's a ton of people who are non-traditional in this program.
