Ugh, Good Monday Morning DU.
I hate Mondays - especially today. I overslept and we all know that's a GREAT way to start off the day. :eyes: So how is everyone else?

Edited on Mon May-24-04 06:51 AM by cleofus1
Just did the 4 mile fat boy mall walk. Worked up a sweat this morning and it feels good. Didn't do much this weekend. Washed clothes and cleaned up the apartment. Just domestic bliss.
It's 3:07 am and 52 degrees with a light drizzle.

4. Work and more work.
That's pretty much it. Had a mini-party Friday night and drank a little but that was the extent of it. Thanks for asking. :)

21. Ack! Welcome to Monday
Went to the RenFest, got rained on in my new flat hat. The new hat did come in handy.

Ran Sunday morning (5mi), and did missions of mercy. Helped moved furniture at a church friend's house and helped clear the basement at my parents' house so the old dead freezer (31 yrs) can be hauled away this week. Then hung out on the outdoor deck at the area's big Sunday hangout later.

Glad I've been working out.

28. We're not talking a lot of weight.
I'm just talking about getting in better shape. I've made a challenge. Well - agreed to a challenge actually. 4 weeks until I get to see him again so I'm trying to be healthier. I've agreed to doing P.T. two days with him while I'm down there. 1)to prove I'm not a sissy girl and 2)to see what he has to go through on a daily basis. Yep, pretty sure I'm going to die.

29. 4 weeks?
to get in better shape? That's a very short timeframe. What's the event? Are you getting ready for a 5k race? Hiking trip? Long day walking around the Renaissance Festival? Standing in line at the DMV?

34. I know a lot of running.
We're doing one course that's like 3 miles I think. Not running the WHOLE time, but jogging for the majority of it. UGH! I can't even run 1 mile! Let alone 3!! I know we'll be doing some Kayaking too and yeah, never done THAT either (I'm sure I'll be an expert at tipping the thing over though). As for other stuff, I'm not sure. He's not really going all into detail and now he's in the field for three days with no communication so I can't ask.

35. With that in mind...
Distance walking with weights. A liter of water in each hand and go for not longer than 30 mins. Walking speed is faster than a stroll. You can add more as you improve.

37. when you go kayaking
make sure you wear a life jacket...or don't get in the boat...I'm serious. I guess...for your regimen you should do a lot of walking/jogging...
good luck...and don't get discouraged if you don't see immediate results...obviousley this is a long term thing.

if you're in a hurry, and you're in a BIG hurry--4 weeks zooms by real fast. Whatever exercise you choose, keep doing it!
