The cat that would not leave my lap (a poem)
He is a very stubborn cat
Who eschews every type of mat
Instead of taking a long nap,
He parks his carcass on my lap.

4. For Gloria, the small and meek
Tiny cat
Huge purr
Forgot how to play
Remembered one day

Gloria is our third kitty. Hubby found her last year in the middle of the road, trying to end it all. If you were sick, pregnant, starving and homeless you'd be suicidal too. He rescued her, she is our miracle cat. She is the smallest full grown cat I've ever seen. She is also our quietest, (except for her purr) and the only one of the three who is a lap sitter.

If I had not named her Trouble,
Would she be?

5. Alas! Alack! The cat is back!
Calloo! Callay! I must away!
But Simba has something to say!
"Oh mama, please, don't make me weep!
Upon your lap I choose to sleep!
Although you must clean up the house
And leave it, quiet as a mouse
So homebuyers can take a peek
And perchance find the home they seek
I am purring and want some love
So off your lap do not me shove!"

7. Whose paws these are, I think I know
His body's on my Times, you know.
He would not have me reading it
When I could scratch his belly, though.

8. Mine:
The bedroom door is open
Just walk in
Instead of crying
Like a little bitch

Call all you want, I do not care.
All I'll do is sit and stare,

Sit and stare, then look away.
I don't care if you want to play.

No matter how much you cajole
I wouldn't touch you with a pole.

...Do I hear the can opener?
Trot trot trot trot trot trot purrrrrrrrrrr
