Kids say the darndest things - and the truth

A friend of mine just told me about a minor incident that occured while he was out shopping. He was standing in line to pay, and in the mean time someone was discussing "what if" theories.

So, one of them says "What if Columbus had never discovered America" a bit too loud. A girl, who was probably no more than 7, provided the answer: "Then there would be no wars or weapons". And then she proceeded to take her candy and left the shop. The rest of the queue just fell silent.

Damn...

1. That's not the truth

There are lots of wars that the United States has nothing to do with, and we don't have a monopoly on weapons production either.

So, while it might have been "the darndest thing," it cannot honestly be called "the truth."

2. There was a war or two before Columbus "discovered"

America :P

It's just human nature.

Even the Native Americans fought each other. Yes- even them.
