Poll question: Black Sabbath: Ozzy or Dio?

Ozzy pretty much DEFINED Black Sabbath as we all know 'em, but I actually think the two albums that Sabbath made with Dio as their lead singer ("Heaven and Hell" from 1979 and "Mob Rules" from 1980) were their best albums.

I won't even bother listing the utterly forgettable Ian Gillan era on this poll.

1. Love Ronnie James Dio's voice!

I preferred him over Ozzy. But I liked Ozzy much better as a solo singer, at least until relatively recently.

And Dio has silly lyrics.

Dio does like that "LOOK OUT" thing, tho. I think its his Ozzy's "oh yeah baby."

On a tape I have of a live gig, he uses it kinda like this:

5. Two entirely different bands, and I love em both

Sabbath w/Dio wasn't no Van Hagar cheeseball sellout. They made 3 damn good studio albums (the third one, Dehumanizer came about a decade late, but it still kicked ass) and a decent live album.

But the name "Black Sabbath" will always properly mean Ozzy, Tony, Geezer, and Bill.

As for the Ian Gillan era "Born Again" album - I liked Purple Sabbath, but knew it would never last.

are the greatest metal of all time. No doubt whatsoever---they f-in rock!
