9. Is there a translation of the book availible?
I do know some decent Japanese (I can read magazines and manga in Japanese no problem), but I have a feeling that an actual novel would be..quite a challange.

5. That would be the common leech.
Also known as the "ambulance chaser" or, more formally, Judicus vulgaris v. Americanus. And it seems that they keep multiplying. It's really getting out of hand.

8. WalMart
If I were a Freeper, I'd say it was the unmarried crack-addicted limo-riding welfare queen with 13 children from 13 different men.

But as a liberal, I have to say WalMart. Or it could be Halliburton. Or even Ken Lay.

Or perhaps the biggest parasite is ToiletBrain.

So hard to tell.

10. Britney Spears?
She definitely sucks.

If you mean literally there's this species of fly here in China. I had a run in with one when I was buying fried rice at an outdoor market. It was dark so I didn't really see it but as I was walking home I had hives erupting the whole length of my arm. It bit me about eight places before I even noticed. I could actually feel the swelling from the bites. I had fingers like sausages and they itched like hell for the better part of an hour.

21. Bot Flies
Adult bot fly grabs mosquito and lays eggs on mosquito. Mosquito bites you. Egg is deposited in the wound of the mosquito. Bot Fly MAGGOT grows in your flesh. You can see it wiggling under your skin. It grows in flesh while you develop painful abscess until it reaches big enough size and then erupts through your skin and drops to the ground. It was the Animal that served as the inspiration for the beast in "Alien."

23. Candiru
"The candiru is one creature you definitely don't want to get too close to. Like many of the more than 2,000 species of catfish in the world (there are about 1,200 in South America alone), Vandellia cirrhosa possesses a set of barbels that resemble feline whiskers. But this diminutive specimen -- it is only about half an inch to three inches long -- has a rather dicey trait not shared with others in its family: It is the world's only vertebrate that parasitizes people. It can anchor itself in a most intimate part of the human anatomy, leading one jokester to dub it Urinophilus diabolicus. In English it is candidly known as the urethra fish, because it can actually swim up the urethra of an unsuspecting bather and lodge itself firmly in place by flaring sharp spines along its gills. Not only does this make for a most excruciating ordeal, but once embedded, the cold-blooded little terror can't be removed by anything short of surgery".
