I just got carded at 7/11 while buying cigarettes. And I'm 48!
The young lady behind the counter was a snippy little thing who asked me for my ID. After I laughed at her thinking it was a joke, handed her my drivers liscense which has an expired date on it and she said, "sorry, I cant accept an expired ID", which I then produced my temporary ID I got from DMV. She looked at it for a while and had to call her manager over to make sure I wasnt trying to sneak one by her, then sold me the smokes. I asked her if she had any question about my being over 18, which she snottily said "rules are rules and we dont want to get fined by the state."
I'm 48 years old have salt n pepper hair and look at least 40! DUH!!!

1. I also get carded
at a couple of places all the time, and I'm 46. The guy told me that they will get fined if they don't ask everybody.

I figure they must be worried that I'm the g-man looking to trip them up...

2. I got carded once in my 40's also, and rather grey at that
time... when I laughed and asked about it, the clerk pointed to a very stooped over old man using a cane and leaving with his purchase. The clerk said, I just carded him too. We got caught and fined last week and so now we must card every one, literally.

3. LOL
Did it make you feel young, or just sorry for that dumb chick behind that counter?

7. A little bit of both. Some people are just rule followers.
Kinda like in the flick "Meet the Parents" when Ben Stiller (Fouker) was at the airport, with nobody else in line, and had to wait for his aisles to be called to board.
I've encountered many people like this and most have been repugs.

6. That's a sign of good health, ya know

I bet you're cute.

Hey, didn't you say you're balding? That should add a few years on anyway. My brother had a huge receding hairline by the time he left for college in Chicago and was able to get into any bar he wanted at 18 years... BTW, he's very good looking and younglooking in the face, until he got married he got hit on by lots of women, and some men even!

9. An officious lady at Kroger's tried to card me (with grandchildren over 21
so neither did I buy the beer nor buy any beer there for several years).
