Are YOU a presidential prayer kid???
http://www.pptkids.org/members.php

This site is a hoot check it out. Make sure you look at the "Things to pray for" section. There is a picture of * riding a mountain bike. I guess you should pray that he doesn't fall off again and make an even bigger ass of himself.

Also the Leaders to pray for section is priceless...
I won't give away who they are but, I will tell you all of the prayers in the world won't get these guys into heaven.

There's nothing wrong with teaching kids spirituality (this is not my preferred form of spirituality in any case) but brainwashing kids to support these murdering bastards is beyond the pale.

But there's always hope - there is never any shortage of disaffected American youth...

5. Is it a joke?
Our Founding Fathers were deeply aware that they needed God's help as they worked to form the new nation! They looked to God and relied on their faith to guide them as they went.

Since the Scriptures teach about the importance of honoring God, our Founding Fathers also believed it was vital that America's leaders honor and obey God.

Which is they wrote this Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, in the 1st amendment of the constitution.

And those guys need prayers. Lots and lots of them. Let's all join in prayer now and pray that they become human. Or at least stop having wars that needlessly kill them.

6. Wonder even they'll be praying for Kerry in November.
I see nothing, nada for the future Democratic President on their site. I'm sure they'll be praying...but it won't be for God's grace to guide Mr. Kerry. What a smarmy, underhanded RNC operation.

7. Maybe they will be praying...
Pat Robertson style to give him some incurable disease.

Robertson in reference to Supreme Court Justices
"One justice is 83 years old, another has cancer, and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?"

10. Of course they're not going to mention Kerry. It is the "Presidential"
prayer site for kids. At least when they do mention our party, they use the proper word, "Democratic." Not "Democrat." That's something.

How about under "ways to pray?"

Pray that godly people—those who love and honor God—will be elected at every level, from your local town or city, right up to the White House.

Pray that all the circumstances of the election will cause God's will to be done.

Pray that everyone in our nation will take the privilege of voting seriously, and that they will exercise their God—given freedom.

Pray that people will really get to know the candidates who are running for office on every level, so they can make good choices.

Pray for all the election equipment to work well—no problems, no worries!

That all sounds pretty flat to me. I don't read anything in there about praying specifically for Republicans to win. Yeah, you can get that out of it, but remember kids are reading this. (By the level of the writing, very young kids.) They're not necessarily going to pick up on the site's agenda.

And that they're suggesting the kids pray for Godly people is moot: this is a fundy Christian site. What else are they going to suggest?

9. I just read the whole page.
Other than feeding the fundy Christian brainwashing machine, and other than centering on prayer for the Bush administration -- which is perfectly logical; that's who's in power so that's who praying people are going to pray for (even if it's "keep him away from the big red button") -- I don't see anything or strange about it. I read nothing on this page that came close to "pray that President Bush is reelected." The lousy writing has a definite slant, but hasn't a Republican the right to be a Republican?

This is what fundamentalist Christians do, folks. Chances are very good that the children of freethinking people won't ever have the chance or inclination to navigate to sites like these. We can't do anything about what the children of fundies see. All we can do is work on their parents.
