15. Good Julia Roberts quote about republicans
Edited on Fri Aug-13-04 11:47 PM by Melodybe
When asked if she was a republican she said, "Why would anyone want to be in a group that falls between Reptile and Repugnant in the dictionary?"

So even if you do hate her she is a democrat, Tom Cruise on the other hand, I think is a closet repug.

I hate a lot of celebraties, I think that might actually hate Jennifer Lopez the most though. ARG I hate that I can look at who she is dating and figure out her next career move.

But Paris Hilton might be a close second.

Besides, he's an absolutely horrible actor!!

I loved Pulp Fiction and thought he did a great job, but the man irritates the living hell out of me. And yes, he is a Republican, and like most Republicans, he just thinks he's something totally special. 95% of all his movies suck donkey balls.

36. He did support Iraq
That doesn't make him a bush supporter. Plenty of Dems supported the Iraq invasion. I have heard him say very liberal things before. I remain unconvinced that he is a Republican.

Remember, Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg also supported the war in the beginning and they are both big Democrats.

Well that's too bad. But Travolta was very specific in his praise of Bush. Like I said, if he's changed his mind, then my respect for him has gone up a little. I still don't like him as an actor most of the time though.

A lot of the stuff he does is just stuff you can buy at any decent magic store; he acts like a drugged-out weirdo (which according to my magician friends, he is), and he moved in on another street magician's turf to make it big, which is frowned upon.

24. Are we sure John Travalta is a Republican?
I hear he's a very, very nice guy (I am definitely NOT into Scientology but there are quite a few of them out here in L.A. I worked with a woman- she was actually a boss of mine-for several years and she was a truly wonderful person. Not only that, she was brilliant in her dealings with people. Scientology really worked for her in a lot of positive ways). Anyway, the celeb I despise is Mel Gibson. I know he's a homophobe, and I think he's part of that weird Catholic sect the Opis Dei. The guy just gives me the creeps!

in which so many internet geeks (mostly frumpy chicks and girly-men) are obsessed with him. He's really not that great looking of a guy. He just had a role in an overrated fantasy trilogy in which he played a "strong, silent type" dude with pretty hair. The second 2 LOTR movies sucked in my opinion and so did Pirates of the Carribbean. People who are "into" them and are of the age of majority are just corny people.

60. Come to think of it, McG is a bigger hole than any of them
A director who wasn't an utter asswipe might have made a halfway decent 'Angels movie with those actresses, ok maybe with Cameron and Lucy and someone else who was hot.

76. She's also two faced.
Now, don't get my wrong I like Rosie. I liked her show, loved her stand up, glad she's a liberal. BUT, when she went on Bill O'Really and kissed ass and started slaming Clinton, I lost a LOT of respect for her.

77. That too. I forgot about that. And I do think it was wrong, no matter
where I stand on the gun issue, for her to have Tom Selleck on her show and then rip into him about the NRA.

78. I don't think she's "much loved" but I would have to say
Tara Reid. A couple issues ago in People magazine they asked celebs "What is your idea of heaven?" Her reply was "Holding an Academy Award in my hand." Like that will ever happen!

83. Well, I can't think of any generally liked at DU that I hate
Edited on Sat Aug-14-04 08:46 PM by mvd
I've never been crazy about Sandra Bullock, Barbra Streisand, Spike Lee, and Kevin Costner. I think Barbra Streisand seems narcissistic and phony, not Lindsay Lohan and Drew Barrymore. In fact, Lindsay is an honorable mention right now on my crush list. She could be competing with Anne Hathaway for positioning, though. I think Anne could break into my list at some point. Catherine Zeta-Jones is a bit phony IMO. I think Halle Berry is boring personally. Never been a Russell Crowe or Ben Affleck fan. As far as Rosie is concerned, I liked her show, but I don't really like her personality.

funny person. She is actually friendly and conversational with waitstaff. (he used to work at the Staples Center and now works at Mangiano's). :hi:

:yourock:

I think Drew seems like a kind and wise spirit. She's maybe a little too kind sometimes. I give her a lot of credit for overcoming her obstacles. Bombtrack is entitled to his opinion of course, but we disagree completely.

BTW, I added a few more names. :hi:

To clarify: I don't HATE her I just think she is SUPER UGLY. I can't understand that men (Brad Pitt, for chrissake!!) find her attractive.

No lips, Jay Leno chin, potato nose. Not cute!!

on edit: if I offend anyone, I apoligize (people have gotten quite angry when I've suggested J.A. isn't pretty. I guess I should know better, but hey, we're all friends here!)

My kids think I'm crazy, but she totally spoiled that Polly movie with Ben Stiller. I would have preferred Sandra Bernhard in that role, for cryin' out loud!
