Why politicians should listen to kids more....
Hello. My name is Miniluvamericahatebush, the 12 year old daughter of Luvamericahatebush. I'm going into the 7'th grade on the 1'st of September, and I have something to say.

Even though some Democrats have good education plans, good tax plans, and other stuff to improve society, they just don't reach us all the way.

By us, I mean 'Us': The Kids of America.

Yeah, every person going into some kind of office has good plans for YOU guys, but not the kids.

Who are the first to feel the closure of the local parks, the swimming pools? The decreased hours of libraries and shorter Summer camps?

You guys only feel the after affect. We feel the first line.

The reason drug usage in youth is climbing so rapidly is that WE, the children, the FUTURE, need something to do!!! For me, I can only watch so much TV and play so many video games. I take up my other time posting on this website, writing, and reading. I also play piano and sax.

But what about my less fortunate friends? The ones whose parents work minimum wage jobs? They don't have money to spend on swimming lessons and saxophones. What do they get into?

The kids in the city, they use drugs.

We need something to do!!! Sure, we may be able to go outside and ride a bike, or climb a tree.

But what about in 20 years?

Will there even be any trees left? Any clean water to swim in? Any libraries left open?

Please, tell any politician that you know, even if you don't have kids, to conserve our schools, our libraries, our pools. My generation is falling!!! We can't take any more blows to our recreation. You'll be glad you did.

1. Actually mini
there was a great article in last Sunday's Parade magazine (comes in the Sunday paper) by this guy who feels that child abuse is something that politicians and this country need to address and we don't. He said it is too bad, because if we don't protect our children, we have failed in one of our most basic jobs.

I agree. Do you think people running for office and actually all of us should be discussing what we can do about child abuse?

And I agree the issues you brought up are VERY important. I work with people who are trying to get cleaner air. My daughter, who is almost 10, has asthma and really bad allergies and we live in the Dallas area. When the ozone level is really high, she can't go outside all day. If school is in, she has to stay in at recess. It's really sad. So I am working to get a woman elected to our state house of representatives who has a proven record of being friendly to the environment. The guy we have now doesn't seem to care.

There are adults out there advocating for kids, don't worry! Kids are my NUMBER ONE concern!
