Woo hoo! Rabrrrrrr just got cable Internet!
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 03:06 PM by Rabrrrrrr
And also, for the first time in 12 years, I have cable TV. Just the basic, though, and just so I can watch the news, even though it's mostly all shit and rightwing spin. Oops, I mean "librul".

So nice to have highspeed Internet again - praise be to God!

Now I just wait a couple days for my new computer desk to arrive so I can pull the computer off the dining room table, and most everything in life will be well and good and correct. :-)

p.s. - I've been watching the cable TV for about an hour now, and lo and behold, it's all been crap. At least during the day. Oh, how I hate TV.

2. Daytime TV blows for the most part.
Occasionally the History Channel will have some good stuff, but that's it.

Isn't cable internet fantastic?

4. You're right, and yes
daytime TV blows.

cable internet is fantastic.

I had DSL before, but cable internet here is the same price or cheaper than DSL, and also faster - I have a 3 MB connection now - so I went cable, even though there is the problem of having to share bandwidth. But, there's so much bandwidth now compared to a few years ago, that I dno't think the slowdown with cable is a problem any more.

What I'd really like for TV is comedy central, TLC, Food network and a few others. But to get ANY of those premium channels you have to get ALL of the premium channels, so instead of $10 a month it's $45 a month.

And that's insane.

3. I get cable tv and internet on September 2
I'm sort of like you. I don't watch much tv but I do a lot of surfing on the net. I just wanted the cable tv to get the cable news channels and, well, ESPN.

8. I feel so much more connected to the world
it's amazing how lost I can feel when I don't have access to email, or when I am on a slow connection.

Perhaps it means I'm addicted. I don't know.

But I NEED my email, and I NEED bandwidth.

14. Don't you dare!
Though the SO wouldn't mind. Not like I asked her out on a date or diddled her or anything.

Ya big snitch, you. :-)

BTW, I have an audition on Friday for a local choral group. Kinda nervous - not like I'm the world's greatest singer. Not worried so much about the audition, worried about doing the actual performing - they mostly memorize the music they do. And I'm basically a good, but half-assed, singer - I do well when others around me are on solid pitch, but not so confident about it myself.

But then, I now have access to piano any time I need it so I can actually study the music and learn it and memorize the tenor parts in advance.

But I've never sung in a choir that asked me to audition before. I've only sung in choirs in which it was "Good God! We're short of tenors! Rabrrrrrr, come sing!"

which is sad, since I like the Daily Show.
