IN one scene, the model is standing in her underwear, hands running over the blade of a knife.

In another, she is on her knees, cleaning up what appears to be the blood of her human victim.

Unsurprisingly, with scenes like these, the new Elle Macpherson Intimates advertisement has generated its share of controversy after premiering on Australian television.

Yesterday, Robert Koltai of the Advertising Standards Bureau, confirmed the organisation had received "some complaints" about the commercial, which forms part of the underwear label's "Summer 04" campaign.

Although Ms Macpherson could not be contacted for comment about her range of lingerie yesterday, a statement on her website promises that the latest campaign will "challenge perceptions of the word intimate".
