1. The ending could have been better, I thought...
Ended kind of on a blah point. The first part was breathtaking and perfect in every way-- I was a bit disappointed with end of the second part. Obviously, that's how the plays went, so tough noogies for me.

BUT--all the performances were amazing. Al Pacino as Roy Cohn was really wonderful, Jeffrey Wright...there wasn't a weak link in the cast, they were all terrific.

2. Really?
I got teary eyed with the ending. I wasn't prepared to like this movie. I went into it with a pretty closed mind & dreaded having to sit throught 6 hours. But I was hooked early on & was pleasantly surprised with how good it was.

11. Well...I thought the last scene in the park was...eh.
I thought it was FANTASTIC up until the scene in the park. Adorable, friends and all that... but it seemed kind of...I don't know.

No one else agrees with me, LOL.

I wish they'd add ensemble cast awards to the Emmys/Oscars, I think Justin Kirk and ...Ben something? Can't remember, I think they deserved something as well.

3. It was a
terrific movie. I wish I had seen the play. Having been through this with my brother I was stunned by how much of the disease of AIDS was portrayed and how accurate it was. I wish my brother had seen angels when his brain was affected. He had more of a Pacino type experience but the portrayal was perfect from my experience. Each character was so important. I recently watched it again and picked up a lot I missed the first time around. I loved Jeffery Wright.

8. So far I can't find
it being available except in books. I'll bet that is a great book though. This is one I will certainly buy when DVD comes out, it was very personal for me and an outstanding movie.

9. It should be out on dvd...
I have seen it several times on HBO and I love it. It is one of those movies where you can watch it a million times and always find new things in it-there is just so much there; in every scene, in every sentence, in every word.

7. Remember, the advent of the AIDS epidemic was about 20 yrs. ago.
Roy Cohn and McCarthyism weren't quite so far away then.

10. Yeah
it was amazing. One of the best things I've ever seen on television.

I saw the play years ago in San Francisco and was blown away. I doubted that anybody could translate it to film, but Nichols did, and did so beautifully.

It deserved every award it won last night, and more. Too bad all the male characters were in the same category. Every performance was award-worthy.
