I had a terrible nightmare.
I rented a DVD of the Simpsons' Halloween Specials and watched the episode where Kang and Kodos take over the bodies of Clinton and Dole. ("Uh oh! Bob Dole don't need this!")

Then I went to sleep and had the most prosaic and realistic nightmare ever: Bush had won the election. In the dream I was surprised, thinking how quickly the fall had slipped away, and then when I realized that Bush had won, I experienced the most profound depression and sadness I can remember in a dream. I was so happy to wake up and find it wasn't true.

I'm not even American and it was the most unbelievable downer. The upside to this is, while I appear to be a little bit psychic in my waking life, I've never once had a dream that literally came true. Let's cross our fingers that this one doesn't.

4. That movie's come true.
Or maybe "Prince of Darkness" has come true instead - bushco reminds me more of rapacious demon-creatures than mere free-market aliens. Maybe there's a bit of The Thing in there too. Hmm. Someone call John Carpenter...

2. don't worry
A lot of dreams are either wish-fulfillment, exploring our hopes, or anti-wish-fulfillment, in that they explore our fears. I think it is a sign that our brain is churning out ways to deal with all the weird possibilities of things that can happen but sometimes the sleeping brain gets it all mixed up. I dreamed that I went to Amsterdam with a parrot in my backpack and won a million dollars playing dice, I don't think they even have dice there, and for sure they would not let in a parrot riding in my backpack, so it's just a weird dream meaning what? Probably that I would like to get a million dollars as long as it didn't involve any effort!

I'm like you, I've had some psychic events in waking life but most of my dreams are pretty off the wall so I don't worry about them too much any more.

3. The cheneything under my sink
A friend had an interesting one a few weeks ago, and detailed it here-

Ones own nightmares are one thing, sticking THEIR monsters in your kitchen is another.
