Adware...Grr...

My computer got infected this morning. The only site I went to this morning that I've never been to was Newsmax, which somebody linked from here. Has anyone ever been infected by going there? Talk about a headache!

1. use a spyware scanner
You can get Ad-Aware (there is a free version) from www.lavasoftusa.com, and there are other scanners also.

You will be amazed what they turn up.

2. I've used ad-ware for a couple of years.
It works great. Amazing the stuff it catches.

4. Full agreement here as well on Ad-Aware...
Tried Spybot but Ad-Aware is more effective.

Now I can check all the porn sites without fear of getting "infected"...:silly:
