4. Back in my day.........
We didn't have these fancy-shmancie plastic games that came in a "box". All this rollin' of the dice, poppin' little poppers, electric light bulbs for noses and other new fangled contraptions.
We would play "poke the eyes" with sticks that we had to break off the trees in the yard.
"Steal the shoe" was one where we would find the kid who was lucky enough to have shoes and we would see who could steal the shoe. The winner got to keep the one shoe for a week to hop around the neighborhood so they could feel what it was like to have money.
My favorite game was "Jump up and down"..we would ummmmm....jump up and down.
Sure they weren't the games of you young spoilt brats..what, with your battleships and ants in the pants, but we had fun...and we liked it!

No, it's not an apology. That was my fav board game.

18. Anyone here remember 'Acquire'?
It was sort of like Monopoly, but a LOT easier, faster and more fun to play.

It involved buying stock in hotel chains that you and your opponents created and built with randomly-drawn tiles. It was a fast-paced game that was the perfect blend of chance and strategy. Every game was different; tactics that worked in the last game might sink you in the current game as you struggled to amass the greatest value on your holdings.

Man, I miss that game. As a kid, I played a LOT of games around this time of year, when the air got crisp and the weather turned ugly.

22. Lost a tooth in 3rd grade due to Red Rover.
Instead of heading for the linked arms, this huge kid barrelled right into me, knocking me to the ground. His head hit my mouth. Sayonara, tooth!

Still loved to play, though!
