A couple weeks ago, Ron Silver complained that.....
....After he proclaimed himself a "Republican Activist".....He could no longer find a part in a porn movie.

He accuses the "industry" of left wing bias.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to ask: "What decent whore would want to have sex with a Republican?"

1. Seriously, who is Ron Silver?
What does he look like? I hear his name a lot on DU, but have no idea who he is. Is he really a former porn star? Kinda a convert like whassername Tracy somebody that was in that Jonathan Waters' film with Depp?

2. He's a has-been, washed up actor that has to ride the RW bandwagon.
To get attention since Hollywood has ignored his lack of talent. Kinda like a Dennis Miller.

6. Gotcha. Thanks.
I just googled his photo, and I recognized him, but couldn't exactly place him in any movie or television show I had ever seen.

Now I feel silly for the porn question. I just got (understood) the porn comment in the OP. LOL!

5. Ron Silver is not a porn star
It's Ron Jeremy.

Ron Jeremy Hyatt. He was very funny in "The Boondock Saints". He's supposedly a very funny man.

For the record, this is 100% of my knowledge of porn stars.

Ron Silver: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0798779/

Ron Jeremy: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000465/

8. Ron Silver's Greatest Role
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 02:47 AM by Bark Bark Bark
...was as a dead body hanging from a door hook in Chuck Norris' "Silent Rage." Watch it. It's an astoundingly stupid movie, one of those "so bad it's good" turds, and Ron's shining moment is the best part of the film: as someone opens the door, Ron's "dead" eyes blink in full view of the audience, because he almost got swung into the wall.

He was also in the violent-rape-by-ghost movie "The Entity," the scumbag politician in "Timecop," and appeared for two years on a little TV show called "The West Wing."

You can't make stuff like this up.

And hey, don't knock Ron Jeremy. He's the original "Man From Nantucket." (Recite the dirty limerick to yourself. Yes, he used to do that.) He's actually pretty funny and seems to be a nice enough fella, he just made a...diverse...career choice.

9. Consider me edified....
If he's a serious hollywood actor he deserves an Oscar for playing a dick on political talk shows.

No wonder I was confused.

13. I hope Silver gets plenty of work soon
If his career tanks, he may opt for what Republicans are dying for him to do.

The idea of President Ronald Reagan was once a joke. So was Governor Schwarzenegger.

Senator Ron Silver wouldn't be a joke.
