I was at this party the other night (actually rescuing someone from the party, but anyhow)....
There was this 21 year-old guy with a coloring book in the corner. I just figured he was really stoned, turned out he'd just been released from psych, where he got dumped almost two years ago after he tried to kill his sister.
He was also really stoned, but his problems run a lot deeper. Apparently he thought his sister was some kind of monster, or that the monster was inside her and needed to get out. With his help.
Of course psych did little for him, other than medicate him for 20 months. His folks don't care about him at all, pretty much wrote him off when he got hauled away... a friend ran into his dad earlier that day, asked how he was. "Oh, he's great!!" the guy said. Of course it turns out he has no idea where his son is, and could care less.
Meanwhile he's in circulation, hanging out with kindhearted hippies in a trailer, who it seems feed him pizza and bong hits.
THIS is what "having problems" really is, I thought to myself. Me, I got none.
