Anyone else surprised that Parker and Stone put Matt Damon
in 'Team America.' He's a member of F.A.G. - along with Alec Baldwin, etc.

Matt Damon? WTF did he ever do? All I can think is that he signed a letter in opposition to the Iraq war. That's it - it's all he did.

I think Parker and Stone are working up some bad karma here. Fuck 'em - I've been a fan for a long time but they can now offically go to fucking hell as far as I'm concerned.

Sean Penn: kick their fuckin' asses.

I hope they go after Eminem too, now that he has a new anti-Bush song out. He'll rip them a new asshole as well.

It seems to me that's it's Parker and Stone playing the PC police these days. They're the ones acting like hall monitors.

Once again, fuck 'em.

because those doing the piss-taking are deadly accurate and scratching your head because those doing the piss-taking have all their facts wrong. There's never been a group MORE prone to self-deprecation than liberals; it's that Stone and Parker seem to believe all sorts of falsehoods about the celebrity left that is confounding audiences all over the place.

Frinstance, they claim that Hollywood liberals are on Kim Jong Il's side. This is such a stupid piece of fiction that it seems to have come from bixarro world; in fact, liberals were arguing that Kim Jong Il posed a GREATER threat than Saddam Hussein in the run-up to the gulf war.

When, to name one example, Frank Zappa satirized hippies in "We're Only In It For the Money," it worked because Zappa's audience came from that subculture and he surrounded himself with them. Zappa was of the culture. He inculcated their idiosyncracies and foibles and,was able to soberly point a mirror at their movement to force an early stock-taking.

Stone and Parker have done not quite the opposite, but even totally stoned would no sane person mistake "Team America" for devastating satire because its observations are not deeply felt. Their deepest insight seems to be "Michael Moore is fat." You can tell that they have rejected any attempt at understanding the motivations behind those celebrities who feel deeply about this issue and simply choose to lampoon their subjects on the shallowest of surface appearances.

The quote of theirs that I caught on "60 Minutes" was very telling; speaking of Sean Penn, they said something to the effect of "Every dog thinks it's a wolf...you get the feeling that these celebrities think that they're more important than they actually are..."

Every dog think's it's a wolf. Every satirist thinks he's incisive.

6. Sean Penn's little pinky is worth more than Parker and Stone put together

Yeah they have a funny cartoon - hahahaha! So fuckin' what.

Sean Penn is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) actor of his generation. He was a good friend of Charles Bukowski and Marlon Brando. He has written and directed his own movies. He has an Oscar.

Fuck Parker and Stone - they're the ones taking themselves too fucking serious! They're the ones playing the hall monitors.

Fuck 'em...

I hope they get their asses kicked.

14. Correction: They HAD a funny cartoon
At least for the first season. More specifically, the rarely show R-rated pilot epidsode. Orgasmo had a good plot sevice, and Baseketball had one good joke ("Dude! Duuude." Dude."). Even "That's My Bush!" which had the potential for trutl classic status, was wasted on dipshits like Matt and Trey.

Everything else they've touched has been shit, a total flop.

The worst part is: THEY KNOW IT. They know they're a couple of unoriginal, unfunny bastards, and they'll do anything to capitalize on what little South Park success they've had so they don't die in a freaking poor house.

4. It was all about the people who were on the lists of opposition to the war
in the leadup to it. That's when they were writing the movie. Hence having Samuel L. Jackson and Helen Hunt and Liv Tyler as well, people who don't first come to mind when "hollywood liberal" is brought up.

Matt and Trey said that they really liked both Matt Damon and George Clooney but they had to include them because they were on those Moveon lists.

5. Hollywood activists are bad--except for Parker and Stone
I guess that's their attitude. If they don't like actors getting political then why did they make a movie loaded with political themes? They sound like hypocritical, immature assholes to me.

8. Prepare yourself to be told to "lighten up"....
By people who fear someone telling them they can't make jokes about their dicks more than they fear any of their other liberties being taken away.

9. Expect Parker & Stone to start whining any minute that they are being...
discriminated against in Hollywood because of their politics.

Film critic William Arnold said this about Team America:

"In a lampooning like this, of course, everyone is fair game. But in its final
sequences, the movie hits these actors with a vigillante nastiness that
crosses the narrow line from good-natured satire to vicious character
assasination."

10. Parker and Stone are dickheads
They said that their real beef with Michael Moore is that people thought that they did the "A Brief History of America" cartoon segment in Bowling For Columbine. Moore has publicly stated that they didn't, but nevertheless, Parker and Stone blame Moore for the misunderstanding. Talk about childish! So some people out there get the wrong idea about something, and they decide to make fun of Moore because he's fat, not to mention every other celebrity that they don't agree with.

Parker and Stone are the real sissies. They make viscous attacks on others and then hide behind childish humor, and then say, "What? Can't you take a joke?" They need to grow the fuck up.

13. I found the way he was portrayed in the movie strange as well.
He isn't stupid, after all he went to Harvard. So I find the whole "Matt Damon!!!" ( in a retarded voice) thing kind of puzzling.
