Life can just not get any more surreal. This trip will cost us bookoo bucks and lost wages from time off from work, and it's the goddamn day after the stupidest election since 2002 and I'm fucking angrier n' shit and I wish I lived in Spain right now and hate this fucking country and AM REALLY NOT IN THE MOOD TO SIT IN A VAN FOR TWELVE HOURS AND STEW ABOUT THIS IMBECILE COUNTRY THE US HAS BECOME and Kerry probably actually won anyways and my head hurts and I only got two hours of sleep and I miss my old friends from high school and my band had a horrible practice last night AND I'm JUST NOT IN THE MOOD FOR THIS and all the exit polls said Kerry would win and the real enemy is the media but I'm ranting and I should just give up and I'm hungry but there's no food in the house and I owe money to several different bill collectors and I haven't played the drums in three years and my head hurts and this sucks.

1. That's how life feels to me this morning, also...
before you take those feelings on the road, try to be consoled by the fact that IF Chimp is declared the winner, we will spend the next four years watching the Rethuglican party implode. The traditional conservatives and thoughtful repubs will no longer put up with Smirk's extremism. (IMHO...)

2. That's wishful thinking
They are all on the same page. The "thoughtful repubs" will be just fine with a racist, homophobic, screw the poor repug party.

It's going to get ugly in this country over the next four years. Bush has nothing to lose.

I hope we can pull out a miracle for Ohio, but things are feeling pretty grim.

3. Hope you're right, think you're wrong.
He was voted for overwhelmingly in the South - gigantic margins. Margins that cannot be overcome in the next election or the next or the next. Bunning got elected for shit's sake. Coburn got elected, for shit's sake.

We need to face facts: this is it. This is America today. It's not just the presidential election that's an indicator. ALL of the Republican whackjobs and whackjob initiatives passed. ALL OF THEM with the exception of sacrificial lamb Keyes, who still managed to get 10% even though he's clearly a lying hypocritical fascist. I mean, dig that: 10% of people voted FOR FASCISM. This is not a fluke. This is America.

Reject racism? Reject sexism? Reject theocracy? Reject homophobia? Reject classism? We're fooling ourselves - America doesn't reject these, it embraces them. It's built on them. I LIKES them. IT IS THEM.

5. I see your point, but....
I believe this election was rigged. And the fundie churches were extremely well organized in getting the hateful and terrified zealots out to vote. I don't believe the results truly reflect the majority opinion in most of the country.

(Hey, let me have some hope here! :freak: )

7. well RKZ
I feel for you. That was a good rant. Part of me feels ok since PA stayed blue... we did work really hard. But the rest of me is disgusted by the way my fellow countrymen "think" if that is what you want to call it. :(

ps I'll bang on the drums for you, of it makes you feel any better. :)
