but I'm a passionate democrat and a political junky....have been since I turned 18 and registered to vote and if I had found out about this site I would have joined a long time ago. I'm in Colorado and I feel incredibly isolated in my views. I do have an inner circle of democrat friends that help but I am glad to see so many not just like minded but intelligent and introspective people on here. I enjoy the spirited debate and the challenging of ideas and perspectives, it's what enables people to grow. I'm beyond sick of the lack of rational thought or questioning in the media and how investigative reporting has been replaced by pundit talking points.
I totally understand if you've been on this board for a long time and it had a certain tone or feel that seems to have been disrupted by johnny come lately's and knowing how the other side operates that it would be helpful to know who's new and who isn't to try and discern who should be here and who shouldn't. That's entirely legitimate considering this in a lot of ways is all we have left. I hope that I can come to learn that culture that you have here and be an addition to it and I hope you do everything in your power to preserve it.
I do have one question along those lines. Last night I saw a guy post that he is a registered democrat but has been voting republican since '96 and that he voted for Bush both times.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1348994&mesg_id=1350033Now I can't figure out why he would want to be on this board but can you tell me when do the alerts come into play? When someone is an obvious freeper here to flame or if they are republican but not saying anything flaming?
Thanks!
