Why did Creed start sucking so bad???

Creed was one of those bands who could've become one of the best ever, but came to a crossroads and decided to take the self-righteous sell-out path.

Here's my opinion: I think Creed's 1997 album "My Own Prison" was one of the best albums of that decade. It scored really high in my book. I'm listening to "One" right now, and I think it's a really good song. In 1997, I think they were a KICK-ASS BAND.

Then 1999 came, and their album "Human Clay", and all went to hell. I couldn't believe that the shitty song "Higher" I was listening to on the radio was Creed. I lost all respect for them afterwards.

I still enjoy all the songs on their first album however, and I'm not ashamed of it. But here's the question that racks my brain: How the HELL did they go from being a really good, musically creative band, to self-righteous dreck???

Flame me all you want, but I think they were the shiznit back in 1997.

Am not ashamed to say I enjoyed their 97 album. That was some good stuff in my opinion...

Heck the song Higher didn't even turn me off from the band.. and a few of their songs on their second album I actually did enjoy... with one huge exception. I could not stomach at any time Arms Wide Open... that and their third album (Which just flat out sucked) did it for me.

It was disgusting to see Creed's CD next to U2's new release. I can't believe that anybody would buy their supposed hits.

I will say that "With Arms Wide Open" wasn't a bad song. I hate everything else they've done.
