computer problems, grrrrr
well, the computer was running really slow earlier while online here, and so i logged off and rebooted.
opens back up with:

while initiating VKD
windows fault protection
you must restart your computer

and that's as far as i can get with each reboot.

any suggestions?

doesn't seem to read a boot disk on cd either

i'm at the publib now, so will check back in bit to see if anyone has dealt with this before.

thanks in advance

1. According to this document from the Microsoft Knowledgebase...

"This behavior can occur if the keyboard that you have attached to your computer is not working correctly. When your keyboard does not work correctly, the keyboard cannot be initialized."

3. Try my simple fix first.
Don't just reboot.
Kill all power to everything.
Count to 10 very slowly.
Turn it all back on again.
Works for me.

4. okay, found the keyboard info online
it's win98, tried the power off already
ended up taking the whole thing apart and was cleaning it when i had to leave to pick up my daughter and dropped by here to check on the internet for a fix.

i'll check the link above and put it all back together later, maybe it's just a keyboard error.

thanks all

6. There Are Discount Stores
I found an IBM keyboard at Big Lots for less than $10 a few months ago. Check around.

Detailed instruction on removal. Be careful if you have to edit the register. I have used this on some of our company computers, we have a good firewall, however some of our sales and enginering types don't
update their DAT files while on the road. On returning to plant a infected PC was hooked up to network, shut us down for four hours.

Be careful if you have to edit the register.

Good luck
