Just Heard a Song I Haven't Heard in YEARS
"Oh, Babe, What Would You Say?" by Hurricane Smith (1972).

Anyone else experience a "blast from the past"??????

9. Maybe this will help
Oh, Babe, What Would You Say?
Hurricane Smith
(E. S. Smith)

As I have hoped for half a chance
To even ask if I could dance with you...You oo
Would you greet me or politely turn away?
Would there suddenly be sunshine on a cold and rainy day?
Oh, Babe,
What would you say?
For there are you sweet lollipops
Here am I with such a lot to say, Hey Hey
Just to walk with you along the Milky Way
To caress you through the night time
Bring you flowers everyday
Oh Babe,
What would you say?
Just so, Baby I know
I know I could be so in love with you
And I know that I could make you love me to
And if I could only hear you say you do oo oo oo oo
But anyway,
What would you say?

Just so, Baby I know
I know I could be so in love with you
And I know that I could make you love me to
And if I could only hear you say you do oo oo oo oo
But anyway,
What would you say?

2. I little while ago I heard..
"Fame" by David Bowie, I had the album, then had cassette tape but haven't replaced it with a cd, so I was thrilled to hear it on the radio

8. Apparently "Getting To Know You"
http://gemm.com/q.cgi?rb=ANDYBURNETT&wild=hurricane%20smith Not on the album, but I assume it's the old standard by the same name. I'm sure it would sound very nice as sung by Mr. Smith (whom I recall had earlier had a quieter life as a recording engineer named Norman Smith, working with Pink Floyd and maybe the Beatles).

6. I've got the record, and taped it before the turntable bit the dust
"Have I a hope or half a chance
to even ask if I can dance with you..."
or something like that.
One of my favorites from the first time I heard it on the AM radio, all those years ago.
