Take on me.....take on me...Take me on......take on me...
A-Ha! Take on Me.

Me and my sis were saying how that song still rocks just as much as when it came out. Great lyrics, great melody, hot singer...

She says someone needs to remake it without ruining it. :scared:
We disagree on that.

2. You don't love that song??
Are you sure?

Am I loudly proclaiming love for a song that sucks?

6. Well, they went with Take ON me for the title...so I'm thinking it's that.
So take on me.
I'll be gone in a day or......twooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Oh my.
I can see how I may have been a bit exuberant in my praise for the song, LOL.

10. "I used to be confused, but now I just don't know"
greatest lyric ever. "The Blue Sky" from "Hunting High And Low" - same album that has "Take On Me".

"The Blue Sky"

I find it hard to breathe
As life just eats away
At the faces that surround me
They look tired today
The lady at my table
Doesn't want me here
I just want to talk to her

But would she laugh at my accent
And make fun of me
Oh, it doesn't seem like this
Blue sky's here for me

There are no girls in here
As far as I can see
Only pin-up posters
Looking down at me
Watching paper cups of coffee
Growing cold before my eyes
All the things I see
That make me realize

I'm in this big world without you
Nothing to my name
Oh, I never knew that
Blue sky meant such pain

I'm dying to be different
In the coffee shop
I've lived on borrowed strength
Now my supplies are cut
Though i'm older than my looks
And older than my years
I'm too young to take on
My deepest fears

Oh, I used to be confused
But now I just don't know

Since you left I've been watching
Blue skies come and go
Since you left I've been watching
Blue skies come and go

"Take On Me" is my least favorite song on "Hunting High And Low"!

13. I might buy that album, seriously.
Never heard anything else from them but that song, always wondered if they were any good besides that.

16. See my post #14.
"Hunting High and Low" is a great album, probably one of the best from the 80's. Definitely worth picking up.

17. buy it - it's great!
"Take On Me" has been seriously overplayed through the years, but the other songs are great. "Train Of Thought", "The Blue Sky", "Hunting High And Low", "The Sun Always Shines On TV" - ahhh, 1985!

I can't believe this album is 20 years old!

By Reel Big Fish, I think.

18. Then there are two covers.
I'd remember if I'd heard if MxPx (they rock for Jesus, right?) did a cover of that.

14. Don't laugh, but "Hunting High and Low" is one of my favorite albums
of all time.

They get written off as a one-hit wonder, but they're still really big in Europe. And that album is fucking brilliant.

If you don't own it, pick it up. It will not disappoint. And if you like that, try an Ultravox album. They're also great for that cheesy, epic, 80's pop.
