I've taken 7,163 steps today.
This pedometer is one of the best things I've ever bought. With my stride length that is approximately 2.84 miles.

I need to walk around my house now, see if I can get it up to 3 miles before the day is out.

I'm working up to 10,000 steps per day.

3. Wish I had one today
I played 45 holes of disc golf through hilly terrain wearing hiking boots that are 2-1/2 pounds each.

4. I got one of those with a salad at McDonalds this year
And I'm averaging 10644 steps per day.

It's awesome to calculate this!!

6. Um, you walk a LOT!!!
I didn't check your profile, but do you live in a city where people walk a lot? I live in a suburb in the south where if you don't have a car, you get nowhere.

9. I need to get one and see how many steps I take per day.
A Leslie Sansone 3-mile walk is about 6000 steps, and I'm up and down the stairway 372 times per day, and I'm chasing The Boy from one end of the house to the other, particularly when he doesn't want his diaper changed...it would be interesting to see.

7. Oh, the down side:
I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and this ISN'T good for someone with OCD. I get up from my computer and walk 100 steps back and forth in the office just to add some more and I am checking it constantly! LOL!

10. Hiya BB--what kind of pedometer did you get?
Was it hard to program and all that?

I hear some can be a be-otch to figure out how to programm--even worse than making your VCR stop blinking 12:00.

I'd love to know if yours was easy to deal with.

11. Oh it was super easy!
It's a Walking Shop Sportline pedometer, got it for about $20. There were way cheaper ones, but I was afraid of getting a way cheapo pedometer.

I love it so much my husband wanted one, so I got him the same kind.

13. Thanks for the info . . .
I think I'm going to get one for my Dad who has started walking for exercise--as part of his New Year's Resolution.

He loves gadgets too so this would be perfect!

14. I heard on the news that you should take 10,000 steps a day
if you don't exercise on a daily basis. I guess 10,000 steps/day can be used as a substitute for exercise b/c 10,000 steps gets the blood going and flowing.

Have you heard this?

Amyway, I'm glad you're having fun with your gadget and that you're getting close and closer to 10,000!
