2. I've wondered this
Even though being smart can be frustrating, I still think that it is better to have better use of one's mind. I'd choose to eat the forbidden fruit in Eden rather than not.

3. Stupid people have it easier.
And so do ignorant people...the unintelligent are unburdened by introspection and self-doubt, for the most part, and while it seems a terribly shallow way to live, I've no doubt they're happier. And the ignorant don't question the "accepted truths" they're given, so THEY must be happier too.

(The two conditions are, of course, quite different. An ignorant person may be enlightened. A stupid person, however, may not become smart without having his or her neurology significantly altered.)

4. If you consider yourself smart...
and you find that you are constantly being frustrated trying to understand all the stupid people around you, it's probably because you aren't as smart as you think you are.

As for myself, I feel that my intelligence allows me enough insight to keep things in perspective, so I don't find myself constantly being frustrated by the world around me.

Of course, it could just be that I'm too stupid to know that I should be more worried.

Either way, I'm happy ;)

10. no what's worse
when you know you're bright, but nowhere near genius, and there's no reason for everyone around you to be stupid, but they are or act that way, that's the worst.

6. Stupid people
don't spend a year and a half on Du and not dare to post because they are worried about what others will think of them. They just go ahead and start ranting away in GD.

8. Depends on what you mean by "better."
If you're going for happiness, definitely stupid people.
However, if you're going for meaningfulness, you have to be smart to have a good understanding of what matters in life. Stupid people get caught up in pointless drama too much.

9. What's better
Not knowing how dumb you are and going through life with a stupid grin...or knowing the deep meaning of all?

12. Well even smart people can't say they "know"...
...the "deep meaning" of it all.
But I guess you could say that smart people and stupid people are just inherently working for different things in their lives. Stupid people just want to be happy, so they don't analyze things or look at things from different perspectives. I think smart people give up on being happy, for the most part, and instead shoot for figuring out what the hell is really "going on here."
They're just different approaches to life.

11. Stupid people.
Reminds me of that exchange between Holly Hunter and her boss in Broadcast News:

Boss: It must be nice to always think you know better than anyone else.

HH: No, it's not. It's awful.
