Halfway thru "Dreamcatcher" - Holy S**t!
This is one scary mf'n movie.

The second half or the ending might suck, I haven't seen it yet, but this thing right now is scary as hell.

And I'm not easily pleased with horror/sci-fi flicks.

Anybody else seen this thing? (just came out today on vhs/dvd).

I'll update this after the movie's over.

5. How can this be?
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 02:38 AM by nu_duer
How can a movie be so cool, so scary an hour in that I'd stop to share it with people I've never even met, yet the second hour be so, well, lame that I'd be embarrassed that I'd even said anything in the first place?

This is an ok flick, imho. Pretty damned good in the first half, imho. Falls apart like many a King movie halfway thru, imho.

Among the movies released today, 2Fast2Furious, and that Cruise ship movie, I'd rent it again, but a horror/sci-fi classic, it ain't. Imho.

But that first half, man, just before Morgan Freeman's first speaking part - damned scary! What a wasted opportunity.

Thumbs sideways, I guess.

on edit: there were strong shades of "The Thing" remake with Ned Beatty during the first half - jsut didn't hold up.

6. **Possible Spoilers**
It was good... though I have to admit I did not read the book. I found the mysterious friendship between the guys to be the most suspenseful part of the movie. I'm still waiting for something to scare me more than "Alien".

:)I know some "Smelly Bellies". hmmmm

I also rented Bend It Like Beckham. I can't sleep, so I might watch that too.

8. Also among the movies released this week
The Scarface collectors edition :).

Who can forget Al Pacino as a coke-addled kingpin?

HEY . . . Maybe that was the shrubsters inspiration :). . . ."YOU WANNA GO TO WAR? I'LL TAKE YOU TO WAR."

7. Read the book
And just ordered the DVD from NetFlix. Can't wait to see it. But of course, I've read all of King's books and seen all his movies. He's the man!

9. I just saw Cabin fever
really strange, sometimes frightening, very gross and sometimes very funny.
I liked it, even though some parts were pretty gross.
