3. I won't harm him...just want him to cook for me...
One more question...did he clean up the kitchen after he prepared the soup or did you have to? If he did, I am on my way to pick him up.

LOL!

7. You're lucky!!!
My ex destroyed the kitchen every time he cooked. I would come in from work, and he would have dinner prepared, but the kitchen looked like a bomb had exploded. His rationale was that since he had cooked, it was my duty to clean. Who got screwed, I ask?

You are blessed. :-)

18. Cuban spoon bread
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 01:41 PM by Padraig18
Just called him and copied down the recipe:

3/4 cup cornmeal, stone or water ground, if possible
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water
3 tablespoons melted butter
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup diced jalapeno or chipotle pepper

Combine cornmeal and salt in a mixing bowl. Stirring constantly, gradually add boiling water, keeping smooth; stir in the melted butter and sour cream. In a separate bowl, beat eggs until thickened and pale in color. Add milk and beat to combine. Add milk and egg mixture to the cornmeal mixture with baking powder. Add peppers. Beat with whisk to blend. Turn into a generously greased 8-inch square glass baking dish. Bake at 350° for about 25-30 minutes, until firm. Serve with plenty of butter.

12. It has...
... *looks*...big chunks of beef, tomatoes, onions, carrots, peas, potatoes, celery, corn.... turnip?...yes, turnip... yellow squash and jalapeno pieces (though not too many)... I think that's all. Let me have some more and get back to you, if I find something else. :)

16. Look, if you're sending him down for JChild...
I'm only a couple of hours north of her and on the route from your house. Have him stop by here after he leaves her house-Michael and I'll find "something" for him to do.

The soup sounds great! The weather is just now getting cool enough for it in Mississippi and I'm ready to make a big pot and a pan of hot, fresh buttermilk cornbread...
