What happened to the Bush twins?
Their drunken antics haven't been turning up in the news for quite a whlie. Did they get religion like their simian father? Are they in recovery? Does pop have them sequestered @ the pig ranch?

1. I say leave the twins out of it...
They're not setting policy or sending our fellow citizens to die in the desert.

They can't help who their father is.

3. I'm with Richardo.
Their antics might make for fun celebrity gossip fodder, but other than that, and in the realm of things, the Bush Twins are completely insignificant and irrelevant.

4. I think Democrats want to do to Bush the same thing that the Republicans
did to Clinton...talking about how ugly Chelsea was, etc. etc.

But I don't think at the moment this serves any purpose. They did not want their father to be president. They have a right to privacy unless they commit a crime.

8. they've committed many crimes
We shoot ourselves in the foot when we concede this issue. The twins were guilty on several documented occasions of underage drinking. They are guilty of illegal drug use. If they were non-white and non-rich, they would have served some jail time. This issue needs to be pursued, if only because of the hundreds of thousands, of not millions, of prisoners in the War on Drugs. As long as there is one unknown human being sitting in jail on a drug or alcohol charge, while the Bush twins walk free, we should be making a noise about it.

that's my opinion, anyway

16. One law for the aristocrats, and another for the peasants.
That's what always bothered me about the antics of the Bush kids. It's not the fact that they party, but the fact that anyone else who did what they did would be in a hell of a lot more trouble.

Does anyone really doubt that if Noelle Bush were a poor girl she'd be in the big house right now?

22. If the twins were smart enough to stay out of trouble, most of us....
...would be happy about that, I'm sure. But as long as they insist on doing stupid stuff in public, they're fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Collectively, the twins don't appear to be half as smart as Chelsea. For eight years she managed to stay out of trouble while her dad was the last legally elected occupant of the White House.

7. Perhaps by making an example of Bob Stevens,
the media has been discouraged from covering the Twins.

Bob Stevens
Mr. Stevens died of a mysterious case of anthrax. He worked as a photo editor for American Media, who owns the National Enquirer. The Bush family suffered enormous embarrassment at the hands of the Enquirer when they published a photo of daughter Jenna Bush, obviously intoxicated, cigarette in hand, cavorting on the floor with another drunken female.

10. 2 years and still no solution to this murder
The last I heard, the widow, Maureen Stevens, was planning to sue the federal gov't because of its lack of effort to investigate this crime. I don't know if this is something that can be successfully litigated, but it is a disgrace that a murder can be boldly perpetrated and pretty much go uninvestigated for so long. The FBI did some amazing foot-dragging -- from not going through all the mail in the AMI building for months to not checking out the mailbox where the letters were mailed for over a year. Clearly, someone doesn't want this case solved.

anthrax? did i hear something in the news about that? a long time ago?

25. Thanks truthseeker1
Now that I'm flamed, you rescued me with an intelligent post. The Bob Stevens/anthrax story is a truly chilling. What a constraint on the free press! This story reminds me of the outting of the CIA agent by the white house to "get even"..... The fact is the twins were drunken crimminals that got special treatment. We all know this.... All I asked about is: where have they gone? What sort of manipulation has been pulled off? Don't give me this "hands off the innocent children" bullshit, please.

13. Uggh...
Don't bother people who were breaking an unjust law, or you're no better than Ashcroft. The legal age should be 18 and soft drugs should be legalised and regulated: End of story!
