so -- what a show. We were the only ones in the Forum who wanted him to play more Wings stuff. I do love Paul

Do you think the kids at Simeon or Martin Luther King High School in Chicago will be buzzing tomorrow about McCartney's performance? Do you think Black radio is going to be talking about hot that performance was?

22. You miss my point. . .
. . .let Paul perform, but put Stevie Wonder up there too. I just think a lot more attention should have be paid to creating a more diverse show.

I'm not assuming shit. I am Black and I like the Beatles, however I think its short sided to think everybody likes the Beatles. . .since you think I am not in touch, I'll wait and listen to Black radio tomorrow and hear what they have to say.

They could have jammed on a mean Sgt. Pepper.

Or Bob Marley could have been up there singing freedom songs.

Don't blame Paul for still being alive.

47. And I don't care for rap or teeny-bopper junk.
I was thrilled it was music from my generation by a performer that is considered a "classic". From my perspective, that music spoke to many more people than the a hiphop or teen-pop-idol musician could. Afterall, there are supposed to be so many of us baby-boomers out there.

19. What's your beef?
I mean seriously. You've been on every McCartney thread talking about the kids at MLK HS. So, if it had been hip-hop, do we need to go ask the kids at Cascia Hall Prep School if they feel represented? You can only pack so much into 15-20 minutes and for the last several years, they've done nothing but TRY to pack a bunch of SHIT into that amount of time. I'm sorry, but it just sounds to me like bitching for the sake of bitching.

Generally as the singer ages their voices start to go, but Paul sounded real good! Better than the last time I saw him in concert which was about '88 or '89.

true Skittles story:

many, MANY moons ago I went to a rock concert with this guy, and really young teenagers kept coming up to my date saying WOW! YOU LOOK JUST LIKE RONNIE JAMES DIO! 29. He wrote it for the James Bond film, "Live and Let Die." I doubt
he sang it for any other reason than the fact that it was a recognizable hit song (and for the fireworks displays; he does that in concerts). Btw, during a benefit concert before the election, when singing "Let It Be," he sang, "Let It Be Kerry."

Yes, Paul is such a tool. He's such a newbie in the entertainment biz he doesn't even realize when he's being used. LOL :wtf:

It's from a movie. Nothing more nothing less. Besides, it really rocked. He did it with pyrotechnics in Boulder in 1993. Who was using him then?

36. Uh, he wrote it for the James Bond movie. And it was a major hit for him
back in the '70's. The song was probably picked because the pyro would look good on TV. And because it's always a big favorite with his concert fans.

Why misappropriate the meaning of somebody's song that was written over 30 years ago? I mean it's a fuckin' James Bond song. Sung at the fuckin' Super Bowl.

Paul McCartney is one of the really good guys -- he's on our side. And, after all, the Beatles changed the world. Those who don't know that -- and don't fully appreciate Dylan -- well, it's just plain sad. You didn't have to be there then -- you can be here, there and everywhere with these geniuses who rocked the world.

34. We got a new HD TV and home theater surround sound
for Christmas -- a present to the family kind of thing -- oh wow was that halftime show cool. We rewound it (DVR) and watched it twice turned up really loud. I wouldn't be surprised if the neighbors heard it. My kids weren't as impressed as we were, but who cares. That was fun.

37. They are so freakin pathetic. I almost feel sorry for them...
What the Beatles did was pure genuis and magic. The haters are envious because they (Beatles) are unrivaled (unless you mention the 'Stones :D) Sorry haters. But when the Beatles stopped recording, "it was done." It was finished. You cannot improve upon perfection. It's just as simple as that.

Almost sorry I missed the game due to Sir Paul's performance.

Man, even in what the critic's call his vanilla days, I've been a fan of the guy!

Was it '92 or '93 I finally got to see him in concert? It was around that time. He started the show by doing the intro to Sgt. Pepper's and segued that into a FABULOUSLY ROCKIN' guitar jam with the other guys on stage that lasted for 15 minutes.

He also sang little known ditties from pre-Wings, post-Beatles like "Cook of the House" and "Wino-Junko".

I assume he was pretty darn good yesterday...
