And the Nobel Prize for Grammar goes to...
George W. Bush for his discovery of the much sought-after Double Passive Voice.

Grammarians have theorized for years that such a construction was possible, but had been frustrated in their efforts to actually create one.

Here is the award-winning phrase:

Mr. Bush on Monday welcomed the new organization, saying: “Condi’s job, and Condi’s team is going to make sure that the efforts are continued to be co-ordinated.”

How bush* does it is beyond my comprehension!!!! but then again I have written and know this, whereas bush* does what??? my hands are indicating to me...after asking what bush* does...my mind went blank..I do not often sit in a room alone on the keyboard using hand gestures to myself? Am I crazy or has the earth turned on its axis??

On edit: even the word 'as' (in the heading) was written in the passive (has?) see what I mean?

6. Well maybe if you quoted it in context...

"Roses are red, violets are blue. Condi’s job, and Condi’s team is going to make sure that the efforts are continued to be co-ordinated.”

NOW it makes sense

is that it's reported so matter-of-factly. No comment on it, no attempt to clean it up. It's just become expected.
